Chapter 202
Diego’s POV
A wicked smirk played across my lips. She’d walked out of my room completely rattled, and that confusion of hers was exactly what I needed to tie all the loose ends together.
I flopped onto my bed and pulled my phone from my pocket. I punched in the passcode and hit dial. After two rings, a cold voice picked up from the other side: "Yeah, Diego... you got something for me?"
"I sure do, boss," I said confidently, twirling a strand of my long hair.
"Talk to me," he said, his interest peaking.
I sat up straight. "Robert’s got his eyes on a little girl."
"A little girl?" he asked, sounding skeptical.
"Eighteen," I answered, remembering her face. "But I can’t blame the guy... she’s real pretty. Sexy as hell, too."
"Diego!" he barked.
"Sorry, boss," I muttered quickly.
A short silence followed before he spoke again. "Fine. Now that you found his little kitten, I’m moving forward with the plan soon."
"Understood, sir."
He hung up. I set the phone down and sighed, a flicker of pity hitting my gut for the girl. "Oh, little one..." I whispered to the ceiling. "Your only sin was catching the eye of the wrong man."

Julie’s POV
Time froze in that cursed moment the towel hit the floor. The shame and shock paralyzed me; I couldn’t even force a word out. Carlos kept my wrists pinned tight over my head, his eyes burning through my naked body with a predatory hunger that made my skin crawl.
I tried to pull my hands away, desperate, but he just held me tighter, like he’d completely lost his mind. "Get away from me!" I choked out. He didn’t even hear me. He was gone, tuned out to everything but my body. It was humiliating. "Carlos, let go!" I snapped.
He finally snapped out of it and dropped my hands.
I dove for the towel so fast I almost lost my balance, wrapping it around my shaking frame. "Get out!" I shouted. He looked at me, his eyes blazing with a strange fire. "I can’t take it," he rasped.
Take what? Before I could ask, he lunged and kissed me hard. I was holding the towel with both hands; I couldn’t push him off without exposing myself.
I had to let the towel drop again to shove his chest with everything I had. I slapped him so hard the sound echoed through the bathroom. "Damn you!" I screamed, trembling.
His eyes dropped to my naked body for the second time. I snatched the towel back up, wrapping it tight and gripping it like my life depended on it. I bolted out of the bathroom. "Damn you!" I hissed again.
Suddenly, the bedroom door slammed open. Robert. I froze. The blood turned to ice in my veins and my heart dropped into my stomach. Robert looked at me with an unreadable expression. "Hello," he said, his voice cold and ominous.
He looked at me like I was speaking another language. "Go out?!"
"I’m just... I’m shy," I lied, trying to find an excuse.
He pulled me against him, my body hitting his solid chest. "You weren’t shy last night."
"Please, Robert... just go."
He let out an annoyed huff. "Fine."
He walked out.
The second the door clicked shut, I felt a mountain lift off my chest. I rushed to the bathroom door and threw it open. Carlos was standing there, stunned. "Get the hell out of here, now!" I hissed.
He stepped out, looking at me with a strange look. "Are you and Robert..." He trailed off. He’d heard us.
"That’s none of your business! Just leave! I don’t want a fight because of me."
"Are you and Robert really together?" he asked, like he couldn’t wrap his head around it.
What is wrong with this guy?! I grabbed his arm with all my strength to drag him toward the door and end this nightmare. And at that exact moment, the door swung open again...
Robert stood there, frozen, his eyes burning with a localized, destructive madness at the sight in front of him.
