My father sold me to the Mafia King novel Chapter 94

Chapter 94: 95/Max and Julie

Chapter 95

Julie’s point of view

I leaned toward him slightly and whispered with a confident smile:

"I will give you other jewelry."

Silence reigned for seconds, in which I saw his internal struggle behind his eyes, before he breathed deeply and said:

"Fine... but you have to tell part of the truth first."

I knitted my brows suspiciously: "I told you everything!"

He replied rigidly:

"Not to me... I mean to Mr. Robert."

I asked him in confusion while crossing my arms over my chest:

"What do you mean?"

He adjusted his sitting position and explained calmly:

"You are now his personal assistant, and I will train you here. I can dedicate two hours a day to you at exactly this time, but how will you come and be gone all this time without him noticing?"

My shoulders slumped with annoyance and I began pacing the narrow space:

"Yes, you’re right... what do I do?"

He suggested coldly:

"You will tell him that you want to exercise in the gym."

I asked him, stopping in my tracks:

"And if he asks me why?"

He returned to examining my body with critical eyes, and muttered:

"Well, if you were overweight, the excuse would be easy, but you’re actually thin."

He fell silent for a bit, then a devious look gleamed in his eyes and he said with total coldness:

"Say you want to make your ass bigger."

I felt a searing heat sweep across my face, and my cheeks reddened until they almost exploded, so I screamed in shock while covering my face with my palms:

"What?! Are you crazy?"

He waved his hand with indifference and said while standing up:

"Fine, say you need the exercise to relieve stress... I don’t know, lie just like you lied to me... although you’re not good at it at all."

I exhaled with annoyance and pushed the air out of my chest forcefully, while I felt my heart thumping behind my ribs at the mere thought of facing Robert.

I said in a tone filled with doubt while shaking my head:

"If you didn’t believe me, do you really expect him to believe me?"

Max tilted his head slightly, and features of seriousness appeared on his face as he watched the agitation of my hands, and said in a low voice:

"You will try to make your words more sincere... it depends on how steady you are before him."

I took a deep breath trying to regain my composure, and straightened my back trying to get rid of my tension.

I looked at him directly, and for the first time since we entered the room, I felt a mysterious bond of alliance bringing us together.
