”I’m fine, I’m fine. I’m alright now. Don’t worry, Mom.” Willow went over to Lara and patted her on the back to soothe her.

Lara knew that Willow was just acting tough so she wouldn’t have to worry.

Lara wiped her tears and said, “Alright, as long as you’re okay. Be careful so you don’t get hurt again.”

Then, she got up and returned to the kitchen dejectedly.

What could she do despite knowing that her daughter was just putting on a brave front? The family was relying on Willow to survive. No matter how heartbroken she felt, there was nothing she could do to help Willow.

This feeling of helplessness was too hard to bear.

Willow felt bad as she watched Lara leave with her back slightly hunched.

Her mother wouldn’t have to suffer with her if only she were a little stronger and more competent.

“It’ll be alright, Willow. Things will get better,” Rachel comforted with a smile. She hugged Willow’s shoulders and squeezed her a little.

Rachel was only trying to vent Willow’s frustrations on Willow’s behalf.

However, she understood the reason why Willow kept to herself when she saw how sad Lara was.

Willow didn’t want her family to worry. Since no one could help her, letting them know would only give them cause for concern.

It was the same for Rachel. She felt frustrated and heartbroken for Willow, but she couldn’t do anything to help either.

Their concerns would only put Willow under pressure.

Willow turned and gave Rachel a look of gratitude.

She thanked her for her comfort and believed that things would get better as well.

The energy in the room felt somewhat low. Tristan and Julian were hoping that Willow would tell them how she got hurt, but when she didn’t, they exchanged looks and an almost telepathic conversation began.

‘Jasper bullied Mommy,’ Tristan thought.

‘That’s right,’ Julian agreed.

Her words were jumbled up but her tone was just right.

Willow didn’t know whether to laugh or cry while Rachel bent over with laughter.

They exchanged a glance and smiled.

Lilith soon finished singing.

Willow and Rachel started clapping their hands.

“You were great, Lilith. That was beautiful,” Willow praised.

Rachel echoed, “Yeah, you sounded great!”

“Yeah, it was great.” Hailey nodded, satisfied with the performance.
