Chapter 38 Passed Out
But with Reina’s new stats, 50 pounds was nothing.
Ursula saw Reina carrying a huge horn and started stuttering. “H-how did you pull that off the beast?”
She had seen it clearly-Reina got close, and within seconds, a long spike just fell off.
It shocked her. She thought the beast would last out in pain, but nothing happened.
“Don’t ask. Let’s go!” Reina only had 2 Energy left. Staying here was pointless.
“Okay, okay!” Ursula had been dying to leave. She let out a sigh of relief and reached for the big backpack, but Reina beat her to it.
Reina tied the five-foot horn to the top of the bag, slung it over her shoulder, and pulled Ursula along.
Her Physique was now 26-almost at Level 3. Way stronger than Ursula.
With 25 Strength, she could practically carry Ursula while running.
They ran across the dried mud of the pit toward the east. While the other beast was focused on the trapped one, they climbed out from the other side.
They avoided a few low-level mutant beasts and reached a safer area. Reina glanced back at the camp and asked, “Ursula, are you going back to camp, or coming with me?”
She was just asking. She didn’t expect Ursula to go with her. After all, her husband was still there.
Reina herself didn’t plan to go back. Since it was still morning, she thought about walking to another camp.
It was a perfect chance to harvest more stats on the way and maybe push her numbers past 30.
“You’re leaving?” Ursula was shocked.
Reina nodded. “I’m thinking of checking out the base.”
“Not a good idea. The beast tide isn’t over yet. It’s too dangerous to travel alone.”
Ursula thought Reina was being reckless. “What if you run into mutant wolves? You won’t even be able to | escape.”
Reina paused.
Right. How did I forget about mutant wolves?
Those things moved in packs-fast, brutal, and smart. If she ran into them, her 22 Agility wouldn’t mean anything.
Forget it. Better to get back to camp and lie low.
Reina quickly changed her mind. “Alright, I’ll listen to you. I’ll wait until the beast tide is over.”

“That’s better.” Ursula smiled, clearly relieved. “Which building are you in? Let’s add each other. We can keep in touch.”
“Sure.” Reina tapped on her smartwatch and held it out.
Seeing that Reina’s smartwatch was broken, Ursula sighed and felt a little guilty.
Such a kind girl. Even with a broken device, she didn’t replace it, but she sold Level 3 mutant beast meat to me at a low price.
She decided to treat Reina like a little sister.
Finding a partner this good who actually had your back was like winning the lottery.
After adding each other, the two of them limped back toward camp.
As they walked, Ursula said, “Just pretend you’ve got internal injuries. Don’t push yourself. There are plenty of ability users in camp. They don’t need us.”
“Got it.” Reina immediately hunched over, making her limp look worse.
Not long after, an armored vehicle pulled up beside them. Someone leaned out and asked, “You two okay?”
Ursula pointed at her broken arm, her face pale. “My arm’s broken. My whole body hurts.”
Reina didn’t say a word; she just “passed out” on the spot.
“Hey! Reina! What’s wrong?!”
Ursula froze for a second, then quickly started crying, “She was coughing blood just now! Did she injure her internal organs?!”
The mercenaries heard that and immediately jumped down. Together, they carried the “unconscious” Reina into the vehicle to take her back to camp.
Meanwhile, Maggie kept flying above the vehicle, chirping nonstop.
One mercenary looked up and shouted, “Damn! That’s the magpie that took down our drones! I’m gonna shoot it!”
Reina instantly opened her eyes, dropped the act, and sat up. “That’s mine! Don’t shoot!”
She grabbed the guy and pulled him back inside.
The mercenary looked confused. “Yours? Then how are you going to pay for the drones it destroyed?”
“Didn’t you guys attack it first? Why should I pay?” The second money was mentioned, Reina was done playing nice.
