My Husband Said His Student Was More Important Than His Pregnant Wife Until I Asked for Divorce novel Chapter 27

Chapter 8

“Talk about petty-so what if they got a bread refill?” someone in the crowd scoffed. “She humiliated and

assaulted a woman and her kids over it. That’s pure evil.”

“Most business owners handle customers with grace. But this woman acted like she was the queen. The kids even offered to pay, gave her a gold locket, and she still treated them like animals. People like her

should not be let off the hook.”

Tiffany opened her mouth, seemingly ready to defend herself, but before she could speak, the entrance

doors swung open.

“That’s her!” a young woman stormed in, pointing directly at Tiffany.

“I worked here for two weeks. She made my life hell, constantly nitpicking, then fired me without paying a

dime.”

“She beat me up in the staff changing room-multiple times-just because I’m prettier than her and she thought I was flirting with her ‘precious’ Nathan.”

The woman’s words hit like a bombshell.

Tiffany’s eyes widened in panic. She didn’t even think before snapping back.

“You’re lying! You’re making that up! You can’t just smear my name like this!”

But the young woman was ready. She raised her phone high, showing a string of text messages.

“Here’s the chat. You told me outright you wouldn’t pay me. You even threatened me. I didn’t dare speak up

before because I was scared. But not anymore. I’m exposing you.”

On the screen, Tiffany’s messages were aggressive and threatening, hiding behind Nathan’s name like a

shield.

The crowd gasped. More whispers. More disgust.

Tiffany’s last thread of credibility snapped.

Just then, another voice shouted from the back.

“Tiffany! Pay me back my money! That’s my and my husband’s life savings!”

A middle-aged woman pushed through the crowd, grabbing Tiffany by the collar and shaking her.

“You promised if I gave you the money, you’d help me open a franchise identical to this restaurant!”

“Now I don’t want to, give that money back!”

Tiffany flailed. “What money?! I don’t remember you giving me anything! You people are just piling on now!”

“I treated you like family! I gave you a job! And this is how you repay me? You’re heartless!”

But that woman was livid, her grip unrelenting. “I gave you $30K. You promised me a Bluebell Grill franchise!

You conned me!”

Turns out Tiffany wasn’t just cruel-she was a full-blown scam artist, even to her own relatives.

“Let’s clear something up,” I said coldly. “This restaurant, it’s not Nathan’s. It’s mine. Part of the Sterling

estate. He was just managing it on my family’s behalf.”

“A business passed down for fifty years. And you thought $30K would buy you a franchise? Keep dreaming.”

Realizing she’d been duped, that woman snapped. “Give me my money or I’ll kill you!”

Tiffany struggled, almost choked, and barely managed to break free. She crawled-literally crawled-to

Nathan’s feet, sobbing.

“Nathan, please… let’s just leave the Sterling family. I’m pregnant. We can start over together. We’ll be fine!”

But my father had had enough. He pulled out a manila envelope and tossed it straight into Nathan’s chest.

“Sign it. The divorce papers. I’d love to see how well you do once you’re out from under the Sterling name.”

Surrounded and exposed, Nathan didn’t even hesitate.

With one swift motion, he kicked Tiffany aside like she was garbage.

“Get out of my sight. I’d never throw away my entire life for someone like you.”

Just then, a sharp pain stabbed through my abdomen.

My vision blurred, forehead drenched in cold sweat. My body weakened and slumped toward the floor.

“Ah-”

The sound of my pain snapped Nathan’s head around. In an instant, he rushed to catch me in his arms, panic

in his eyes, his voice trembling.

“Vivian! Are you okay?!”
