My Husband’s “Work Wife” Is Just a SISTER? Let Me Teach Her How Family Trees Work novel Chapter 44

Chapter 7

My words left them speechless.

Ethan pointed a shaking finger at me. “Y-you… You think we’re scared of you? There’s no camera in here! Who’s going to

know what we did?”

He stomped hard on the shattered phone, grinding the screen to pieces.

Instead of getting upset, the corner of my mouth lifted in a cold smirk.

A phone that costs three grand is built to last. Even smashed to pieces, the call was still connected.

That meant every word spoken had been transmitted to the other end of the line.

My lack of anger only infuriated Ethan more. He strode over, grabbed my wrist, and started dragging me toward the

classroom door. The homeroom teacher just stood there and watched, not even trying to stop it. The disgust in his eyes

was clear.

Once I was shoved into the hall, Ethan immediately hurried back inside, gathered the weeping Luna into his arms, and

began murmuring comforts to her.

I just stood there, smiling coldly, starting a silent countdown in my head.

Ten… nine… eight… seven…

…three… two… one.

Sirens wailed, growing louder until they echoed across the entire school grounds.

Several uniformed officers got

of the cars and approached me. “You’re the one who called, miss?”

I nodded.

Ethan blinked, then laughed. “Wow, Chloe. You even hired fake cops now? Let me see what a fake cop looks like.”

He swaggered up to the nearest officer and reached out to pinch the man’s cheek, his expression utterly disrespectful.

Even as the officer repeatedly warned him to stop or face consequences, Ethan paid no heed. He kept laughing, tugging

at the officer’s face and uniform.
