Chapter 12
Gavin
“Fuck, that feels good,” I grab a fistful of her hair. Calla moans as she sucks my dick. At least she’s fucking good at something.
Her tongue twirled and played around my dick, making me growl in pleasure. I move my hips faster, and she follows my speed. I grab the back of her head, shoving her head down, making her go faster.
“Yes, suck my dick faster,”
I move my hips into her, my dick going deeper into her throat. My body starts to shake as I come undone. I spill my liquid into her throat, and she sucks me dry. I exhale, sinking into my office chair. Calla gets up, giggling and straddling me.

Did you like that, baby?” she asks. I nod, running a hand through my hair.
“I did, too, I enjoy pleasuring you, Gavi, imagine if-”
“Don’t speak, please,” I’ve told her multiple times to shut her mouth.
“You’ve been so sullen and rude towards me lately,” she murmurs.
I growl and push her off me, “There you go again, speaking when I told you not to!”
Calla sniffles, and the fake waterworks begin. “Why do you treat me like this nowadays?”
I can’t take it anymore. I pull my pants up and leave the office; Calla is shouting now.
I have been distracted lately. Apphia has been missing from the pack for a week. And it gets more challenging for me to breathe with each passing day. I miss her so fucking much. I can’t sleep or eat adequately without her, and Jr is stirring and whimpering all the damn time.
I go to the attic, in the room where my mate slept. Her scent hits my nose, but I know it will fade soon, so I keep the door and window locked to preserve it as long as possible.
“Where are you, Apphia?”
A week ago, I was ready to reject my mate after putting it off for a year, but I couldn’t. My mouth was sealed as she looked at me with her gorgeous eyes. I couldn’t do it, so she did it for me. Apphia was in immense pain, as I was, but she was brave,
I shouldn’t have accepted the rejection. Instead of being so harsh with her, I should have been on my knees, begging for forgiveness. She was perfect, and mine. I was a fool, an idiot!
That night, I learned her father planned to ship her to Alpha Amir’s pack. I was furious and confronted him. I went off on him and Amir; everyone thought I was crazy for attacking the two alphas. However, my attack was justified. I knew Amir’s intentions towards Apphia; he never hid them well. The fucker lusted for her.
After the horrible encounter with my alpha, I searched for my mate. There was a lake she often visited. I didn’t know what I’d have done if I had found her, but one thing was for sure: I wouldn’t let Amir have

her. Ever. She was mine; I shouldn’t have rejected her. I wanted to take it back.
Reaching the lake, I found Duncan there. He was beside himself, sitting on a large tree trunk, his head hanging low and his hands in his head.
“Duncan, what happened?” I asked. I felt a pang of apprehension in my stomach, and my heart was pounding. I caught Apphia’s scent, but she was nowhere to be seen. I could also smell blood, and there were blood stains on the ground. Something was wrong, so fucking wrong.
“Where’s she?” my voice broke. He lifted his head and looked at me. His eyes were bleak and red.
“D, why are you here?” I asked, my voice shaking. Where was my mate?
“My sister,”
“What happened, D?” I panicked, feeling a mix of emotions. My heart pounded, and my hands trembled, anticipating the worst.
“Rory … he hurt her. I think he hit and raped her.”
I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I fell on my ass, shaking, and overcome with feelings. My blood was boiling, but my anger slowly vanished and was replaced by incredible guilt and profound sadness as tears streamed down my face.
“I’ll skin him alive and then kill him,” my wolf growled. Duncan shook his head and pointed at something a few feet away; I followed his eyes.
“He’s dead. Apphia killed him in self–defense,” he answered.
“Where’s Apphia?”
“She’s gone. She left the pack,” Duncan said.
“No, no, no. Apphia can’t leave. No,” I muttered,” I take it back,‘

Duncan turned his head towards me, wondering why I was acting this way.
“Take what back?” Duncan growled–his lethal glare on me.
“She’s my mate, and I rejected her,” I confessed. His eyes widen with shock. When he got over his shock, he lunged at me and punched me in the face. He was taking out his anger and guilt on me. I pushed him away and stood up to face him.
“How could you reject her? She’s been through so much! I won’t fucking forgive you for this!” he shouted. I scoffed. So, he was doing that?
“You’re no better than me, Duncan. You watched as half your pack members abused your sister. You didn’t do shit when one word from you could have ended all her misery!”
I was angry. Duncan shouldn’t blame me when he was no better. I regretted watching, and most importantly, I regret the rejection.
Duncan looked guilty after my words, and I almost regretted speaking them, but he needed to hear them.

“You think I was happy to watch my only sister suffer as she did? What could I have done? Dad told me she was the reason my mother died, that she was evil and needed to pay for her part. I got so angry when they beat her, but I just couldn’t do a damn thing about it,”
Tears streamed down his face. I knew he always felt guilty when he saw her suffer. He would even take her to the clinic discreetly. He’s the one who insisted she continue to go to school, as her father wanted to stop her education. Duncan was breathing heavily, “Or maybe I just needed someone to blame for my mother’s death, and she was there,” he whispered.
“Duncan, I –”
“But why did you have to put her in such hell, too? She’s your mate, man,” he questioned, his voice low. I didn’t have a concrete reason to reject Apphia.
I lower my head in shame. I shouldn’t have cared what people say. I needed to find her and bring her
back home.
The following weeks were crucial for us. The disappearance of Apphia had spread, and the death of Rory, the bastard. Everyone blamed her and thought she ran away after committing a heinous crime, despite telling them the truth. Even the alpha didn’t believe his daughter. Worse, the men they sent after Apphia that night didn’t return. Everyone branded my mate as a serial killer now.
Duncan and I looked for her everywhere, but it was futile.
