My eyes meet the siblings. Lily watches me with a shocked and angry expression while Nicholas remains impassive. It frightens me. After a long silence, the princess slams her palm on the table and gets to her
feet.
“Your father is an alpha who watched as pack members beat you?!” she growls, shaking in anger. Nicholas is no better; his aura swirls around me. It’s dangerous and murderous. If they learn my father laid his hands on me, they’ll surely lose it.

‘Apphia, which alpha is that?” Nicholas’s voice is stern and deadly. I keep silent, anxious.
“Please tell us what happened to you. We want to protect you better.”
“I don’t want to get them in trouble, Lily,”
“Trouble!” she booms. “They are in trouble. They are fucked,” she growls.
I glance at Nicholas. His scorching eyes are fixed on me, and it’s unnerving. I sigh and nod in defeat, knowing I can’t keep the truth from them for too long.
“We should discuss in the study, brother,” Lily suggests. They get to their feet, and Nicholas extends his hand for me to take. I take it.
We go upstairs through the elevator to the third floor. We pass by several doors until we reach the end of the corridor. It has a double door.
Nicholas’s study is spacious, with tall windows and an airy feel. There’s a large desk and leather chairs. He sits behind his desk, and Lily and I sit in the leather chairs.
The door opens, and Blade and Drake walk in, both saluting me with a smile.

My mate sits before me, her lean legs crossed, hands on her lap. She is nervous, and her eyes peek at me discreetly. I also asked Blade and Drake to come, as they are close to me.
“I’ll tell you what happened, but I request that you don’t do anything to them. All I want to do is live away from them and start anew,” she says, trembling. I can’t do that. ” Please, Alpha,” she pleads. Apphia is looking at me, waiting for my nod.
“I won’t kill them,” it’s the best I can promise. She seems satisfied with that and takes a deep breath.
My pack mistreated me for ten years ever since my mother died. I was practically their servant and punching bag,” she starts, and I’m already losing it.
‘Calm down,‘ Lily’s mind–links me. She is masking her anger well, but I can feel it.
“The day after my seventh birthday, my mother woke me up that night, panicked. She said people were after me and that we needed to leave. We were supposed to come here to get protection from the king and Queen, but we didn’t make it because she was killed,” her voice trembles.

voice.
“I miraculously survived. However, I don’t remember much from that night except the fear, the violent shaking of trees, and the dark shadows following us as we ran. I woke up when the day broke beside my mother’s lifeless body with this scar on my face. My pack, especially my father, blamed me because I habitually ran away from home. Hence started the physical and emotional abuse,” she finishes.
When she finally looks up, there are tears in her eyes. My heart constricts in my chest. My mate went through so much for something that wasn’t her fault. They all just blamed her instantly, a seven–year- old girl. This tale is as old as time and fucking ridiculous!

My pack thought I was cursed,” she chuckles. There is no humor in her laugh, only pain. “Maybe they are right because when Rory forced himself on me, um, when he sexually abused me, I killed him. It wasn’t my intention, but I was so mad, and next thing he’s begging me to stop and starts to cough out blood,”
There is a moment of silence in the room, and she searches our eyes; I don’t know what she thought she’d see, but she didn’t see it.
“Did your father send those men who were after you the night we found you?” asks Blade.
“No, those were Alpha Amir’s men. A friend of my father’s. He wanted me to go to his pack and be his maid, but he always touched me inappropriately. I was to go with him the night I ran away,‘

I’m growling in anger, my lycan roaring in my head. They are all sick in the head. I need to find these alphas.

Asshats,” Drake growls. “I have a word: no punches for your pack, especially that man you call your father!”
“They are all fucking twisted, and you were only a child. How could they blame you and take out their anger on you?!” Lily says, getting up and hugging her gently. I wish I could do that, too.
“What’s the name of the pack?” I demand.
