My Mates Chose The Other Girl novel Chapter 1

I volunteered for the Tideborn pack.

The sea shifters who claim one mate and never release her.

My alpha father begged me to reconsider.

My three ex alpha mates only scoffed. "Elara, stop playing games," Alpha Gale snarled, bandaging my wounds while his wolf slept in another female's den.

They thought it was a lesson.

Pretend to choose another mate. Break me. Make me grateful.

So I let them.

I swallowed rotting meat. I froze alone in our empty den. I waited.

Their plan worked.

I learned independence.

Independent enough to walk onto that ship by choice.

When they find my abandoned den and my cold scent fading...

they'll realize their little lesson ended with three failed alphas.

Everyone in the Silverwood Clan knew my mates spoiled me rotten. I demanded the best food and clothes, throwing tantrums on a whimthrowing fits whenever I felt like it.

I was pampered and loved, free to do whatever I wanted.

Everything changed when an outsider showed up.

Where I was bratty and demanding, she was gentle and radiant. Shifters flocked to swarmed around her, but she didn’t rely on anyone. She raised her pup on her own and thrived.

Gradually, my first mate started looking at me with disgust. I was too high-maintenance for him, always demanding more than he could give.

When he left, my other two mates were furious for me. "Aquila, you made your choice! Don’t you dare come crawling back to Elara!Don’t even think about crawling back to Elara later!"

It wasn’t long before my second mate left as well. I looked at Gale Thorne, the only one left, and felt tears welling up.

"Gale, am I too much for you, too?Gale, do you think I’m too much too?"

Gale ran his hand through my hair. "Hush nowDon’t say that. They’re idi0ts who don’t know what they lost had."

"Don’t go! Please, Father, don’t go!" I threw myself in front of him, shaking my head hard enough to make myself dizzy. "Stop defending me.Stop. Just stop making excuses for me."

The memory of Aquila Sterling and Rufus Wade leaving crashed over meWhen Aquila Sterling and Rufus Wade left, I ran to Father, sobbing. Ivy Greene moved to the edge of the territory after that, but my mates still didn’t return.

Their eyes, cold and accusing, were still burned into my memory.

"Elara Vance, stop playing your games."

"Ivy didn’t do anything wrong, and you almost got her kicked out of the clan."

"If it weren't for your father protecting you, what are you?Without Chief Vance protecting you, what are you? Nothing at all."

"I can’t believe I ever wanted you. You disgust me."

That night, I had clung to Gale and cried myself to sleep. Now even he was gone.

Father let out a deep sigh.

"Elara, you’re my only daughter. I can’t stand the thought of you so far away. But I can’t watch them hurt you either. The Drawing is in three days. Sleep on itThink it over, and we’ll talk then."
