Chapter7
Charles Whitmore was a mess.his nose bloodied, eyes swollen, and tears still clinging to his face as he launched into a
whiny tirade.
“Dad, she hit me! She humiliated me in public! You have to get revenge for me,I swear, I’ll ruin her and her whole damn
fam.”
Smack.
Harold Whitmore silenced him with a brutal slap across the face.
“You ungrateful brat! Apologize to Miss Black. Now.”
Charles was stunned. “Are you insane?! She hit me! And you’re taking her side?”
Harold didn’t even blink.
He kicked the back of Charles’s knee, forcing him to collapse onto the ground.
Then he turned to me, bowing slightly, his expression full of regret.
“Miss Black. I failed as a father. Please forgive him. This is entirely my fault.”
I casually patted his shoulder.
“Harold, have you forgotten how you went from a street hustler to the CEO of Whitmore Enterprises? Who backed you
every step of the way?”
Harold bowed even lower. “Of course not. Mr. Black changed my life. I owe him everything.and I’ll never forget it.”
Charles finally realized just how deep in shit he was.
His voice trembled. “Dad… who is she, exactly?”
Harold slapped him again, this time across the back of the head.
“You stupid little bastard. You really had to go and mess with the daughter of Raymond Black?!
“Raymond Black… Black Viper Syndicate?” Charles choked.
“Bingo. And while the Viper Syndicate might’ve gone quiet in public, anyone knows they’re still pulling strings from the
shadows.”
“Every major company in Riverton, including ours, has their money in It.”
*I spent months setting up this marriage meeting for you, and instead of playing it right, you assaulted her in public.

a surgeon and pianist with a powerful…
You’ve lost your damn mind.”
The arrogance drained from Charles’s face, replaced by pale, sweating terror.
“I didn’t know, I swear, I didn’t know… Miss Black, please. I was wrong. I didn’t mean it. Forgive me this once.”
I glanced at him with a smirk. “You’re not apologizing because you feel guilty. You’re apologizing because you’re scared.”
“If today. I’d been an ordinary woman, wouldn’t you and Bianca have walked all over me without a second thought?”
The crowd murmured in agreement.
“Exactly! That guy only bullies the weak. No remorse, just fear.”
“Serves him right. Thought he was untouchable. Guess the God had other plans.”
“Miss Black, don’t let him off easy. People like him only learn through consequences.”
Harold looked panicked now, hearing the voices around us growing louder and angrier.
“Miss Black,” he said quickly. “He was ignorant. I’ll discipline him myself. Just this once, please let him off the hook, for my
sake.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“I’ve never been publicly insulted, slapped, and threatened like this in my life. If I just walk away now, how the hell am I supposed to swallow that?”
Harold hesitated, then exhaled heavily. “What do you want to do with them?”
I looked from Charles to Bianca, letting the silence settle.
“You want to throw your weight around, use power to crush others? Fine. Let’s take all that power away.”
“I want you to strip Charles of his surname and Inheritance. Cut him off. From this moment on, he’s no longer a Whitmore.”
Charles bolted upright. “What?! I’m your only son! Who’s going to inherit the company?!
Harold opened his mouth to argue, but I cut him off.
“Inheritance? That’s based on the fact that the company still exists after tonight. My father is on his way right now. Tell me, Harold, what do you think he will do when he sees my bruises?”
That shut him up.

“I understand.” Harold said, his voice hollow. “I’ll release an official internal announcement severing all ties with Charles.
Effective immediately.”
I nodded. “One more thing.”
“If Charles and Bianca are truly in love, let them enjoy their tragic little romance without money, titles, or privilege.”
Let’s see how long their ‘love’ lasts without luxury to cushion it.
With my bag finally back in hand, I left the scene, escorted by Thomas and our security team.
When I returned to the Blackwood Estate, my father was already back from his emergency flight, pacing like a storm
about to break.
The moment he saw the bruise on my cheek, his eyes turned murderous.
“Who did this to you? I’ll kill them. Right now.”
I grabbed his arm before he could storm off.
“Dad.” I said softly. “how many times have I told you,no more bloodshed. I’ve already handled it. It’s over.”
He glared. “Everything else in this world I’ll let slide, but not this. You’re my daughter, my only child. I’ve never even raised my voice at you, and now someone dares lay hands on you? I will gut them alive.”
I sighed. “Killing them would be a mercy. I prefer something slower. More painful.”
“Charles used to be the golden boy of Whitmore Enterprises. Now he’s just a washed-up nobody. He’s gonna wake up every morning hating her guts. And you know who he’s going to blame for it?”
“Bianca Sterling.”
My father looked at me with pride and admiration, then finally relented. “Fine. Do it your way. Just promise me one
thing.”
“From now on, you don’t leave the house without a bodyguard. I already lost your mother.I’m not losing you too.”
I fell silent for a beat, then nodded.
My
mother had died in a car accident when I was a baby.
The brakes had been tampered with, old enemies from my father’s days In the Syndicate.
She died shielding me with her own body.
