My Panther Mate & Our Little Cub novel Chapter 106

Transinigrated to Raise Panther Cubs

Chapter 106 The Door That Opened

When bathing, Matthew had already been pushed to the edge. He’d gone out to cool off, even wandered around for a whilehis hands practically burningbut nothing helped.

Zachary’s face filled his mind.

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and a dark gleam flickered in his golden eyes.

It only took a few steps before his ears slipped out atop his head, and his long tail wrapped around Zachary’s leg, brushing against him in slow, restless strokes.

The door shut behind them, secured with a wooden bar.

The cave was dark, but to a black panther therian, it made no difference. They were creatures of the night.

They had used the same soapberry fruit to wash, yet for some reason, Matthew found Zachary’s scent irresistibly intoxicating.

More addictive than catnip.

It made him want to bury his face in it, to breathe it in deep, again and

again.

Zachary was laid into the soft beasthide bedding. Matthew leaned over him, desire long suppressed now surging all at oncewaiting for the right moment to erupt.

And this was it.

At that moment, the primal beast inside Matthew roared to life.

Veins stood out along his

arms, his gaze

dark and unreadable.

Their clothes slipped away, and they lay bare

her on the bed.

Matthew gripped Zachary’s shoulders, pressing close, nipping and kissing along his neck. Like a true black panther, he rubbed against his mate, inhaling his scent, claiming it.

His ears flattened back, his long black tail curling instinctively around Zachary’s waist.

Low, restrained breaths filled the silent cave.

The wind stirred the door.

Matthew walked over.

Every grain of wood on its surface looked strangely beautiful, sealed tight before him.

He reached out, tracing it with a nearobsessive touch.

The uneven texture sent a faint shiver through him.

It was a beautiful door.

Even its color was perfect.

Zachary really was talented.

Matthew stood outside it, forcing himself to knock.

Once. Then again.

His patience wore thin. He struggled against the urge to force his way in.

At last, the door cracked open. He leaned in, slipping half his head through.

The cave inside was warm.

Zachary, however, frowned, pushing at him, trying to keep him out.

The night ran deep.

But Matthew was wide awake.

He knewhis Zachary had come back.

The three of them slept in again.

Matthew was woken by soft, childish voices outside the door. He glanced at Zachary, still asleep in his arms, leaned down, and pressed a gentle kiss to him before quietly getting up and dressing

The cubs weren’t loud. It was just that therians had sharp hearingany little sound could wake them.

When Matthew stepped outside, he saw a crowd o

the cave.

Others were digging in the dirt. A

Some had shifted into little black panthers, sprawled

few squatted on the ground, drawing with sticks.

The moment the door opened, the cubs stretched their necks, rose

onto their

toes, and rushed forward.

Matthew!

Is Zachary awake?

Did he get up yet?

Their eyes were bright with anticipation, as if something important was at stake.

What is it?Matthew had taken care of himself the night before, and now he felt refreshed, even in a good mood. A rare smile touched his usually cold face.

We brought something for Zachary,” one of the older cubs said.

What is it?Matthew glanced over.

Several bulging beasthide bags sat beside them.

Chestnuts, the cubs said, recalling what Zachary had called them yesterday.

Flasher

They’d gotten up early, thinking about the delicious food Zachary had mentioned. After eating, they came straight over.

But the cave door had stayed shut.

So they waited patiently.

And when nothing happened after a long while, they couldn’t help themselvesthey went to gather some on their own.

That way, they could taste something good sooner.

Just thinking about Zachary’s cooking made their mouths water.

Come back at noon,Matthew said, glancing back into the cave. He had when Zachary would wake The shaman’s medicine was strong.

Even Jaden hadn’t stirred.

He wondered if it might have any side effectshe’d need to ask about it.

Okay. The cubs nodded obediently. Don’t forget to tell Zachary!

I won’t.

Matthew decided to start breakfast first. Zachary really liked that rice dishcongee.

He grabbed a couple of handfuls of rice, added a few before chell nuts, chopped in a red sweet potato, and

set it all to boil with water, just like Zachary had done before.

While waiting, he tossed a chunk of longspined beast

Late breakfast today, huh?Yael walked in, with Taylor right behind him.

Weren’t we supposed to go hunting together?

Matthew replied calmly, Almost ready.”

Yael looked at him, puzzled. Heywhere’s Zachary?
