Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 11 A Fruitful Haul

Elias saw Zachary rubbing his hands together gleefully, ready to make a move. He quickly stepped forward to stop him and said firmly, “Zachary, you can’t eat this.”
“I’m not after the leaves.” Zachary carefully pulled the plant out of the ground, revealing a yellow, knobby rhizome at the root, still clumped with dirt.
He snapped off the root as he grinned.
Quincy thought he must be starving and hurried to warn him too. “The root isn’t edible either. The pungent taste will leave a disgusting taste in your mouth,” he said.
“I can use this as seasoning.” Zachary pulled out the entire clump of ginger in one go, broke off all the roots, and stuffed them straight into the beast–hide bag.
Now, he finally had something to remove the gamey smell from meat.
The beast–hide bag became much heavier with all the things inside.
Elias shook his head, feeling bewildered. “Zachary, you have strange taste.”
Zachary chuckled. “This is good stuff.”
After such a fruitful haul, he patted the bag hanging from his body. Even his fatigue seemed to lessen.
By the time they reached the tribe, it was already evening. The sub–therians happily carried their food home.
Suddenly, a child darted out from the crowd.
Taylor ran straight into Quincy’s arms and rubbed his face against him. “Sire, you’re finally back!”
Quincy gently patted the cub’s head. “How was today’s hunt? Are
you
tired?”
“Sire, 1-” Taylor couldn’t even wait until they got home before he started gesturing excitedly and telling his
story.
Zachary’s cave was on the far west side of the tribe, which was quite a distance away.
Looking at the two large beast–hide bags filled to the brim at his feet, he wondered how he was going to ‘transport them when he spotted Jaden standing not far away.
Zachary waved at him. When Jaden walked over, Zachary analyzed the child from head to toe. “How is it? Did you get hurt anywhere?”
Jaden shook his head. Then, he pointed at the things on the ground and asked uncertainly, “Are we taking these with us?”
Zachary smiled. “Yeah, I got a fantastic haul today. Jaden, stay here and watch these. I’ll take one with me first before coming back for the other.”

He didn’t expect Jaden, the tiny child, to help at all. The beast–hide bags were heavy, and there was no way he could carry them.
But as soon as Zachary finished speaking, Jaden lifted one of the bags and hoisted it onto his shoulder.
Zachary hurried forward to take it. “Hey, that’s really heavy.”
Quincy laughed. “It’s fine. Therians are very strong, so don’t underestimate the cubs.”
Zachary turned his head and saw Taylor walking alongside Jaden with a bag hoisted on his shoulders.
Their homes were in the same direction, after all.
“Elias. I’ll be back to help you later,” Zachary said. After spending the whole day together, he had grown rather fond of this sub–therian.
“Don’t worry. I’ve got my younger brother..” Knowing Zachary had injured his head, Elias decided to reintroduce them.
Of course, even without the injury, given Zachary’s former temperament, he wouldn’t have recognized him
anyway.
“His name is Ethan.”
Ethan smiled. “Hello there, Quincy and Zachary.”
“Well, we’re off now.” Elias clapped her hands, and Ethan hoisted both bags onto his shoulders before following behind them. “How are you feeling, Elias?”
Elias rubbed his neck. “What do you think? We did find some big, red fruit today. Sire will be happy since it’s his favorite.”
Elias Alpha had gone out
Meanwhile, his Sire rarely left the house because of his poor health, entrusting most of the gathering work to Elias.
“What’s this?” The moment Zachary stepped into the cave, he noticed a feathery ball with vines wrapped around it.
Jaden set down the beast–hide bag and replied, “It’s a clucking beast.”
“A clucking beast?” The names of the animals and plants here were both straightforward and oddly cute.
Zachary stepped closer, realizing it was actually a large wild chicken with majestic feathers. It breathed faintly, looking like it was about to die. He asked, “You caught this?”
Jaden nodded in response.
Zachary gave him a thumbs–up. “That’s impressive, dude! I can’t believe you actually caught a wild–uh–a clucking beast.”

Jaden revealed a large leaf that had been lying on the ground, which contained plenty of chicken eggs. Zachary was delighted. He grabbed Jaden by the shoulders and shook him excitedly. “Tll whip up something tasty tonight!”
Jaden’s expression remained calm as ever, but he had relaxed considerably.
