Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 154 You Are About to Lose Your Wife
Zachary had a sudden, sinking realization that something was very wrong. Jaden’s earlier warning echoed in his/head–sub–therians could transform into beast forms too.
He glanced downward and immediately froze. Instead of a human body, there was a soft, pale–white underside and four heavy, rounded paws beneath him.
Instinctively, he tried to move his fingers. The pink paw pads that had been tucked together spread open like petals, and sharp, curved cream–colored claws extended once more.
He really wasn’t human anymore.
Excitement surged through Zachary so intensely that it almost stole his breath, but his new body didn’t respond the way he expected. He attempted to walk, only to realize both legs on the same side were moving together. After a couple of clumsy steps, he crashed face–first into the ground.
No one was there to witness it, thankfully. He shook himself off, then awkwardly patted his head with a paw. The dense fur cushioned the impact, barely letting him feel pain.
He began pacing inside the cave, where Matthew’s lingering scent still hung in the air. Then, suddenly, something overwhelming took hold of him–an urgent need to find Matthew. The feeling grew stronger by the second until it drowned out everything else.
A strange heat stirred inside his body, restless and hard to ignore. He shook his head, but before he fully registered it, he had already stepped out of the cave.
The cold air hit his face like a slap, yet he didn’t feel cold at all. Instead, he lifted his nose and searched the wind for Matthew’s trail.
Once he left the tribe’s territory, everything became far more difficult.
Deep within the endless white forest, a silver–gray lynx darted across the snow, powerful and fast. Each leap sent powder flying into the air. Snow dusted his thick fur, and under the sunlight he looked almost unreal, like something out of a dream.
After Yael and the others finished hauling in the river traps, they moved toward the pits. Several black panthers had already gathered around the deep holes, and the moment they spotted the trapped prey, low, excited rumbles rose from their throats.
Matthew dropped straight into one of the pits and snapped the neck of a baa beast in a single bite. He braced himself against the wall with his front legs, using raw strength to hoist the body upward while Kyle grabbed it from above and pulled. Working together, they quickly dragged the animal out.
Donald’s trap held a massive, tusked grunt–beast, wild and thrashing violently. It took both Yael and Donald straining together before they finally managed to subdue it.
Matthew climbed out afterward and shook the dirt from his coat. Snow clung to his fur and head, so he rolled his face into clean snow, scrubbing away the blood around his mouth.
Daniel stood guard over the pile of fish, bored out of his mind. Then he suddenly spotted a silver–gray

figure rushing toward them from a distance.
“Awoo!” he barked immediately, issuing a warning growl since he was closest.
But the figure didn’t slow down.
What the hell, Daniel thought.
Without hesitation, he launched himself forward and slammed into the approaching animal,/teeth bared in a fierce snarl.
The impact sent Zachary flying into the snow. He landed hard, completely stunned. A moment later, he sat up inside the crater he’d made, staring blankly at the black panther standing before him, back arched and ready to strike.
“Awoo!”
It’s me!
Daniel’s face twisted in confusion. The creature didn’t seem hostile, but its behavior made no sense.
Why is it acting so weird? It looks smart enough, but it’s acting completely clueless–running straight into a pack of black panthers, and now it just sits there after getting attacked without even trying to run.
Zachary felt a burning frustration rise in his chest. The discomfort inside him only worsened, and all he
blocking him and wanted was to reach Matthew. Instead, after finally finding familiar faces, Daniel was now acting aggressive.
“Awoo!”
Zachary mused,
If you keep this up, you’re not getting any of the good food next time!
Daniel had never seen Zachary’s beast form before. Assuming it was about to attack, he struck first, pinning it firmly beneath his front paws while baring his teeth. “Hiss!”
An adult black panther’s weight was no joke, especially Daniel’s–compact but packed with muscle.
“Um… Zachary was forced down so hard his fur bristled. His legs flailed wildly, kicking snow straight into Daniel’s face.
Are you seriously hissing at me right now?
Daniel opened his jaws, aiming for the neck, but the moment his eyes met those ice–blue ones, he froze.
Why does this feel… familiar?
That wounded stare sent an unexpected chill through him. He still had the silver–gray scruff between his teeth, but he couldn’t bring himself to bite down.
“Awoo! Awoo!” Zachary stopped struggling and curled inward, crying out desperately toward the distance where Matthew was.

“Awoo!”
* Finished
Matthew, if you don’t come now, I’m getting eaten! You’re about to lose your wife! You’re going to be all alone!
His cries grew more and more distressed, his ears drooping as tears gathered in his bright eyes, which made Daniel hesitate because the creature felt strangely human and hadn’t even broken skin, yet it still sounded like it was dying.
In the distance, Matthew snapped his head up and immediately started running.
Yael and the others sensed something was wrong and immediately dropped what they were doing, chasing after him without hesitation.
When Matthew arrived, his blood ran cold. A silver–gray lynx was pinned beneath a black panther, curled up in the snow and completely still, as if being mercilessly attacked.
