Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 184 The First Stone Mill
Zachary tilted his head up and let out a soft “meow,” then leaned in to
Matthew.
essa few affectionate kisses against
Matthew didn’t react at all, letting it happen with calm indifference, which left Zachary slightly unsure of
what that meant.
Along the way, Zachary kept slipping beneath Ma sometimes even lightly licking and nibbling at his fur
belly–whether on purpose or by accident- as they moved.
Matthew still gave no response, simply continuing to walk forward as if nothing was happening.
Zachary trailed right behind him the entire time, occasionally even catching the tip of Matthew’s tail between his teeth.
Matthew wasn’t upset at all.
In fact, he had already figured something out–if Zachary thought he was angry, Zachary would only become clingier, constantly coming over for hugs, kisses, and attention.
And honestly, Matthew found that kind of behavior quite enjoyable.
The tribe had been waiting outside for quite a while. The moment they spotted the black panthers returning with prey in the distance, the entire crowd broke into excited cheers.
When the two cubs ran toward them, Zachary’s expression softened instantly–his eyes curved into little crescents and a faint smile formed on his lips.
“Sire!”
“Zachary!”
They rushed in from both sides and latched onto him, hugging tightly.
That evening, both families ate together. Matthew and Yael took charge of cooking, and while their skills didn’t match Zachary’s, the meal still turned out decent.
After dinner, Matthew deliberately kept Taylor back. Yael was more than happy to go along with it, dragging Quincy away with him as they left.
At home, only a single medicinal leaf remained. After thinking it over, Matthew tossed half of it into the fire.
Seeing Matthew’s attitude, Zachary immediately understood he wasn’t getting any rest that night. But fighting it felt pointless–resisting wouldn’t change anything, so he might as well accept it.
After all, this wasn’t new to him. It was just another familiar cycle of experience.
Bur unexpectedly, just as Matthew was gathering himself, Zachary suddenly shifted back into his human
form.
Matthew could sense every change in him clearly as it happened.

Chapter 184 The First Stone Mill
Still
Finished
groggy and disoriented, Zachary took a moment too long to process it. He stared at Matthew blankly, then suddenly his ice–blue eyes widened in panic.
“Get… get away…” he stammered.
A deep rumble came from Matthew as he leaned in, warm tongue brushing over Zachary’s face again and again.
“Matthew, you can’t… mmph… Zachary tried to speak
but the rest of his words broke into a muffled sound/ His eyes misted over, lashes trembling as they lowered.
That rare moment of Zachary returning to human form felt like an unlocked door to Matthew–opening into something entirely new. And this time, the experience left a mark that wouldn’t fade for a long time.
Zachary ended up crying through the night. Matthew let him shift partially back, holding him close and soothing him for two full days, while faint bite marks lingered stubbornly on his shoulders and arms.
When food distribution happened in the tribe, Jaden went to collect the rations. Even at such a young age, he stood calmly in line among a group of towering therians, completely composed.
When his turn arrived, the boy carefully chose the pieces of meat he knew his sire liked best. Taylor caught sight of it and promptly stepped in to help, while Yael lingered nearby, shaking his head with a long, resigned sigh–considering raising another cub.
Back at home, Matthew checked their food storage and then grabbed a few fish to make soup.
Zachary had only just returned to human form and was still disoriented. As he climbed out of bed, his body instinctively moved on all fours–and it didn’t even occur to him that he was completely unclothed.
The instant his bare skin met the cold floor, reality snapped into place. He wasn’t a lynx anymore, and there was no thick fur left to shield him from the cold.
Only then did he notice the clothes placed by the bed. They had all been washed and carried the faint scent of soapberry. He slowly dressed himself, piece by piece, before walking out of the cave.
Near the fire, a beast–hide mat had already been laid out. It had basically become his usual spot.
He yawned, then saw Matthew preparing fish on the stone slab and immediately reached out to stop
“Let me do it,” Zachary said, pressing down on his hand.
“It’s fine. It’s almost done,” Matthew replied, lightly squeezing his hand back without letting go.
“I don’t want fish chowder,” Zachary admitted bluntly.
Matthew glanced at him. “It’s good for you.”
I’ll cook it. Zachary insisted.
Matthew raised a brow. “Oh?”
Zachary added quietly, “Your fish chowder… is a little too fishy.”
him.

Chapter 184 The First Stone Mill
“Is it really bad?” Matthew asked, remembering Zachary’s past reactions.
“Not that bad.” Zachary said after a pause.
Matthew thought it over. “Teach me how to make it.”
“Sure.”
Zachary didn’t think cooking needed that much physical guidance, but Matthew insisted he’d learn faster/ that way.
Just that breakfast alone raised the tension between them noticeably, and Zachary eventually slipped away to the other side to cool down.
When Jaden returned with firewood, the fish chowder was already steaming. He sat beside Zachary, took a sip, then looked up.
“Sire, did you make this?”
“Your alpha and I made it,” Zachary replied with a small smile, ruffling his hair. “Drink more. You need to grow taller.”
Lately, Matthew had gotten used to eating with a fluffy lynx curled in his lap. Without it there now, he felt oddly empty and kept glancing over.
Zachary noticed. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Matthew said casually.
Because of the freezing weather, they stayed inside. The wheat they had traded from the Rabbit Tribe was still stored away, and Zachary started thinking about building a stone mill.
He remembered an old craftsman in the east part of his village who used to make them, and even his own yard had one–great for grinding grain into flour or meal.
Using a burnt stick, he sketched markings on the ground while studying the stones outside the cave.
He had the idea down, but the real work–cutting and shaping heavy stone into round grinding plates, carving grooves and a handle–would require extra hands.
Yael, naturally, was the perfect choice.
So the three of them set to work together–Matthew and Yael handling the heavy labor while Zachary directed the process. After two full days of effort, they finally completed the first handmade stone mill in
the Beastworld.
