They kept walking, and every time they turned their heads, new beast faces would pop up in their line of sight like random refreshes

Even though Zachary knew they were therians, he still got a bit uneasy whenever a black bear suddenly came into view, or a massive lion appeared right in front of him. It felt like the next second they might bare their fangs and lunge at him with a roar.

Taylor, on the other hand, was having the time of his life. He kept looking around, clearly enjoying everything he saw.

He already had that soft, cute look to begin with, with little curly hair and big eyes. More importantly, he was a natural talker and super outgoing.

Along the way, he had already greeted quite a few therians from different tribes and even chatted with some sub–therians. Now his hands were full of the fruits therian had given him.

Quincy just stayed behind them with a fixed, polite smile. Zachary was even more socially awkward. He kept his eyes straight ahead, afraid that someone might suddenly ask him to talk.

Jaden had a personality very similar to Matthew’s. He gave off this constant “do not approach” vibe. He barely spoke the entire time, and whenever a stranger came close, he would immediately shoot them a wary look.

After walking a bit further, the view ahead opened up. Along the flat land by the river, many tribes were unloading their goods. From a distance, the scene looked quite spectacular.

“This should be it,” Henry said.

At his words, the black panthers came to a stop. After Matthew, Yael, and the other mates and cubs got down, the panthers grabbed their clothes in their mouths and ran behind the trees to shift into human form.

But not all therians cared about doing things that way. So no matter where they looked, they would occasionally catch sight of groups of naked therians changing clothes.

Zachary only froze for a second before Matthew’s tall figure stepped in and completely blocked his view.

“Drink some water,” Matthew said, handing him a bamboo tube. “Strange therians are dangerous. Don’t wander off. If you go anywhere, you need to tell me.”

Zachary nodded. “Let’s boil some more water later.”

“Mm.”

After they unloaded their things, they piled them together for now. Daniel and Ethan went to gather firewood, Yael handled setting up a temporary stove, and the rest stayed to clear a spot for their stall.

Not long after, their neighbors arrived. It was a group of giant red pandas. Their round bodies carried beast hide bags, and their fluffy tails swayed side to side, so cute it was almost overwhelming.

Zachary’s attention was instantly drawn to them.

Taylor stared in disbelief and tugged on Jaden’s sleeve. “Jaden, they’re like cute little chubby cats.”

The red pandas quickly shifted into human form. Their light orange hair was extra fluffy, mixed with a few strands of white. They had brown eyes, sharp little fangs, and fair, soft–looking skin. They were extremely

adorable.

Zachary was just thinking that the creator of this world must have really good taste when he turned and saw their other neighbors on the opposite side, the vulture tribe.

Every member of the tribe was bald. Their heads were so shiny they reflected sunlight. Standing there, with prominent brow bones, sharp gazes, high cheekbones, and thin lips, they looked almost like gangsters.

If they weren’t carrying goods, Zachary would have thought they were there to collect protection fees.

But others still couldn’t judge them by appearances. The vulture therians only looked intimidating. In reality, they were quite friendly. They walked over and tossed two fruits to Jaden and Taylor.

Taylor swallowed nervously and didn’t dare to be greedy anymore. He just stood there stiffly.

One of the vultures lifted his chin. “Eat it.”

Taylor looked at Jaden.”

“You’re a little too intimidating,” another vulture said trying hard to smile in what he thought was a friendly way. “These fruits grow on cliffs. They’re really good.”

Taylor quietly hid behind Jaden and said softly, “Thank you…‘

On the other side, the White Tiger Tribe had just arrived at their destination.

Hubert had been looking around the entire way, claiming it was just “keeping watch.” [

Horace couldn’t be bothered to call him out. When he got irritated, he would just kick him once. “Move it!”

Finally, Hubert’s persistence seemed to pay off. His expression lit up, excitement barely contained in his voice. “Horace, let’s go over there! That spot is good. A lot of therians will definitely come trade with us.”

Horace followed the direction he pointed and answered almost instantly. “No.”

Hubert’s voice shot up. “Why?”

Horace gave him a sideways glance. “Why? You still have the nerve to ask why? We are here to trade, not to fight.”

Hubert didn’t get it and replied stupidly. “Why would we fight? Isn’t fighting not allowed during the trading gathering?”

Horace let out a sigh and looked at him like he was an idiot. “Can you stop rushing to embarrass yourself? You’ve already been rejected twice by that lynx sub–therian. If a fight breaks out, your reason is just embarrassing.”

Hubert felt like he had been stabbed in the heart. His expression soured, and he insisted, still stubborn. “It wasn’t twice. The last time doesn’t count. He didn’t even say anything.”

Horace was completely speechless. “Can he even talk in beast form? And even if he did, would you understand?”

Hubert drooped his brows and pleaded. “Horace, I promise I won’t cause trouble.”

“I don’t believe you.”

Hubert reached out to grab his arm. “Horace.”

Horace said flatly, expressionless. “Shut up.”

Hubert squatted down and stayed there, unmoving. He looked visibly dejected, as if the whole world were against him, completely broken.
