My Panther Mate & Our Little Cub novel Chapter 93

Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs

Chapter 93 Fondue Time

Finished

The sun had already dipped toward the west, and the evening light softened into a warm, mellow glow. Kyle and the others were just about done with their work, way faster than Zachary had expected.

Two large baskets of fish were hauled back and handed off for processing. The therians practically lit up at the sight of it, clearly enjoying the task.

Zachary needed to set up a few temporary stoves outside the cave. Before he could even finish speaking, Yael and Josh were already lifting stones. Leave it to us!

In no time, four sturdy stoves stood in a neat row right in front of him, each thoughtfully packed with firewood.

Daniel crouched nearby with a flint in hand, ready to spark a fire the second Zachary gave the word.

Zachary found them kind of funny, but he got it. So he played along. Go ahead.

Daniel took on the honorable duty and lit what might as well have been a sacred flame.

Most of the ingredients were already prepped, so Zachary got started on the fondue base.

Once the pot heated up, he poured in the moo beast fat he had rendered earlier and let it melt slowly over low heat.

He added sliced ginger, wild onion, and garlic cloves, frying them until golden, then scooped them out. Then he tossed in a generous handful of peppercorns and chopped chili peppers, finishing with a pinch of salt.

A full pot of rich, noadditives fondue base came together, completely natural.

In this world, they could not even get their hands on overly processed food if they tried.

The spicy, numbing aroma drifted through the air, filling the cave and making everyone’s mouths water.||

Bruce, who had been out in the nearby hills gathering herbs, paused and sniffed the air hard. He dropped. what he was doing and headed straight for Zachary.

For the broth, Zachary planned to use moo beast bones.

He blanched the ribs and large bones with ginger and wild onion, then rinsed them clean. After that, he added warm water along with scallions, ginger, garlic, and peppercorns, then simmered it over medium heat.

While he cooked, the others laid out the prepared ingredients one by one. There were piles of mushrooms and wild greens, stacks of sliced gruntbeast, baa beast, and moo beast meat, plus a large bowl of sliced yellow sweet potatoes.

Zachary then took the processed fish and carefully sliced the ones with fewer bones into thin pieces.

Quincy walked over, carrying a basin of cleaned snails. Zachary, what do we do next?

Elias trusted Zachary’s cooking, but those snails looked weird to him, and there barely seemed to be any meat on them.

Zachary smiled. Leave the rest to me.”

He took the snails and set up another stove. He put them into cold water with slices of ginger and brought them to a boil.

Then he scooped them out, cleaned them, and heated oil in a pan. He tossed in scallions, garlic, and chili peppers until fragrant, then dumped in the snails and stirfried them over high heat. Right before taking them off the heat, he added salt and a big handful of perilla leaves, then covered the pan to let the sauce reduce.

His movements flowed smoothly from start to finish, quick and effortless.

Everyone watching was stunned, completely impressed.

At this point, Zachary had basically reached godtier chef status in their eyes.

Ethan rubbed his hands together and grinned. Zachary, can I try one?

Of course-

Before Zachary could finish, Ethan grabbed one and popped it into his mouth.

Crunch.

He looked at Zachary with a complicated expression. It tastes great, butkind of hard on the teeth.

You are not supposed to eat the shell.Zachary did not know whether to laugh or cry. He grabbed a thin stick, sharpened the tip, and picked the meat out of the shell. Here. This is how you eat it.

Ethan reached out to take it, but Kyle swooped in first and snatched it with his mouth, chewing happily.

Thanks, Zachary!

Kyle!Ethan snapped, ready to swing at him.

Alright, alright.Zachary stepped in. Go make yourselves some of these pointed sticks first.

While everyone else was busy making a scene, Yael had already peeled his share and quietly snuck a few

bites.

to mouth.

Zachary’s hands were occupied, so he leaned in took it between his teeth. It actually tasted pretty good.

Matthew didn’t say a word. He just kept picking out more snail meat and feeding him.

After a few bites, Zachary stopped him and pushed the next piece back into Matthew’s mouth. You eat too. So, what do you think? Good?

Matthew nodded. Good.

He didn’t leave. He stayed right next to Zachary, passing things over one second and adding firewood the next. He just had to stay close.

The whole scene left Elias speechless.

When did Matthew get so clingy with his mate? He’s even less independent than Jaden! He’s huge, and he’s still hovering all over the place!

After trying it, Diego and the others couldn’t stop talking. Zachary, you’re amazing!

This is so good!

Isaac and Linus even sucked on their fingertips, clearly wanting more.

For the first time, Zachary found himself thinking that growing up in a poor mountain village had its perks. At least now, even after ending up here, he wouldn’t starve. If anything, he could even show off a little.

The looks people were giving him were way too admiring, and it made him a little selfconscious. He quickly called everyone over to clean up and get ready to eat.

There were four stoves. Three were for fondue, and one was for grilling.

Zachary evenly poured the simmered bone broth into three pots, added the fondue base, and let them cook over low heat.

Steam rose in thick white clouds, carrying a rich aroma, while the red broth bubbled steadily.

Around the pots, all kinds of ingredients for the fondue were neatly laid out.

Diego and the others had never seen anything like this before. They were curious.

Don’t we throw everything in and cook it together?

Do we need to scoop the soup out first?
