Ten Years Later
Della POV
I stand in front of the floor-length mirror and look at myself. It’s hard to believe that, after all this time, Valor and I will take our rightful places. It definitely wasn’t an easy road and many covens, pack, and kingdoms weren’t happy about the power we would hold. Most that opposed would want proof of who and how we would protect them. Many thought that wolves or vampires would be favored. There are still a few kingdoms that aren’t happy, but their size has limited their abilities to stop what is happening today.
I’m hoping in time we will prove that all supernaturals will be treated equally. No favoritism will be shown. Their leadership will remain with the added benefit of Valor and my powers. The Bear Kingdom refused to even attend the ceremony. I have a feeling they may be a problem in the future, but for today I’m going to focus on those that are supporting us. “We will handle whatever they may try in the future. You look beautiful, sweet girl,” Amethyst says. “Thank you. I love you Amethyst. You are my best friend. The other half of me.”
“I love you too, Della. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The goddess chose the perfect human for me. Now let’s find our besties and our king,” she says, and I giggle. Before I even take a step, the door to the room opens and a very pregnant Maddy steps into the room. Valor and I have decided to start trying after everything is settled, but I’m happy to have a niece or nephew to spoil for now. “Are you ready, my queen,” she says, with a bow and I roll
my eyes.
“Don’t be cheeky Maddy. No matter where we are or who we are with, I will never be queen to you. You are as much as much my equal as Valor is and you know it.” Tears well in her eyes and I almost laugh at how hormonal she is. She cries at the drop of a hat. I pull her into my arms and hug her tightly. “I love you, Della. Never did I think the first day we met that we would be here. That I would be mated and pregnant. That I would have an amazing wolf and best friend,” she says.
The door opens again and this time Ronan steps inside. “Della, are you making my wife cry again?” “From what I heard, you made her cry yesterday by saying you thought she was having more than one pup!” “I didn’t mean she was fat. I just thought her belly got big really fast and I was right,” he says. I pull Maddy back and she smiles at me. “We are having twins, but I still think he was calling me fat,” she says.
“Oh my goddess. Do you know what you’re having?” “A boy and a girl and you are perfect my wife,” Ronan says as he pulls Maddy into his arms and buries his nose into her neck. I squeal and do a little happy dance. I couldn’t be happier at this moment. We are taking our places
