My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34: Home sweet home!

The original plan for this trip was just a few days, but they had to extend it for a few more days because of Ashley’s new business and Lucian’s new contact.

But overall, both could safely say it was a fruitful trip for them.

Meanwhile, in the Dominion territory...

Nolan stood near the dining table, his eyes focused on the little master eating his dinner quietly. From what he heard, the team that left with Lucian and Ashley had extended their stay. They didn’t share any more details, only that they would probably return in a few days.

Since that news reached the little Primo, the young master’s mood had been low.

He’s always quiet, so it shouldn’t be unnatural, Nolan told himself, only to sigh. But who am I trying to fool? I know the young master is not in the mood. He’s probably worried.

Although Nolan wasn’t sure if Primo was worried about Lucian or Ashley at this point.

Nolan took a small step forward, carrying a gentle smile. "Young Master, shall I play a game with you if you don’t feel like sleeping early?"

Primo quietly looked up at him, studying his face. But he didn’t answer—not a nod or a shake of the head. Instead, he continued his meal in pure silence. It wasn’t like he was frowning, but more like he simply couldn’t be bothered.

"If you’d like, I can try," Nolan added, maintaining his smile. "However, if you are not in the mood, I won’t push you."

Still, no answer.

Hence, Nolan took a step back and watched Primo finish his dinner. Once the young master was done, he wiped his mouth and jumped off the chair.

As usual, Primo walked away without a word, but Nolan was certain the young master would retire to bed early—perhaps do some homework or study before sleeping.

Nolan let out a shallow breath, gesturing to the maid to clean up the table before following the young master. But as he stepped out of the dining room and into the mansion’s lobby, his steps halted upon hearing cars outside.

His brows crinkled as he glanced at Primo’s figure just a few steps ahead.

Primo had his head turned toward the main entrance, staring at it motionlessly. After a second, he turned on his heel and marched toward the window.

Unlike earlier, expectation twinkled in his eyes as he watched several cars pull into the driveway. His face brightened for a split second, his shoulder relaxed the moment one of the car doors opened, and Ashley stepped out.

Nolan, standing beside the young master, studied Primo’s side profile. He pressed his lips together to stop himself from smiling, but he couldn’t help it.

How could he resist when even Primo let out a quiet sigh of relief while watching Ashley shove everyone aside to get to the trunk?

"She’s still carrying luggage," Nolan remarked, watching her struggle with a suitcase.

Everyone around her looked on with varying reactions, clearly showing their differing opinions of her. Nolan could tell that most of those silent judgments were negative. Then, he shifted his gaze to Lucian, who was now standing beside Ashley, watching over her.

"Ahem!"

Primo cleared his throat, making Nolan jolt slightly.

Lines formed on Nolan’s face as he looked down at him. "Young Master?"

But Primo didn’t say anything more as he walked away, heading toward the center of the lobby. When Nolan glanced back at the window, he saw Ashley dragging the luggage up the steps on her own while Lucian shook his head at her.
