My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin novel Chapter 444

Chapter 444: I Know, But It Doesn’t Matter

Their next target, after crippling the five businesses that served as Marshal’s primary sources of income, was an entirely different division of the Di Carpios.

If last night’s operation had focused on their distribution network, tonight’s target was one of Marshal’s military bases.

It wasn’t the family’s main headquarters.

However, it served as one of the primary deployment points for Di Carpio reinforcements.

Because time had been limited the previous night, Ashley had only gone over the details of their first operation and given everyone a brief overview of the rest of the plan.

Now, she could finally explain the next phase.

"They aren’t the Di Carpios’ elite soldiers," Ashley said, sitting on one of the stools by the kitchen counter. "Their greatest strength is numbers. They overwhelm their enemies through sheer manpower."

She tapped the blueprint displayed on the tablet.

"If we burn this place down and eliminate as many of them as possible, it’ll significantly weaken the Di Carpios’ military force."

After all, Marshal’s greatest military advantage had always been numbers. Of course, he also had an elite unit under Scott’s direct command.

Ashley knew those men well.

And she also knew that facing them now would be troublesome.

For the time being, her objective was simple.

Cripple Marshal financially.

Then cripple his military strength.

After all, if others heard that Marshal was getting weaker, they would hound him like hungry wolves.

"So..." Rum flipped through the photographs spread across the table one by one. "Aside from these three guys... everyone else here is basically manageable?"

Ashley nodded.

"Those three used to be part of Marshal’s personal security detail," she admitted. "They’re skilled. Extremely violent. Men like them are perfect for running a place like this because they know how to make people obey."

If there was anyone who understood them better than anyone else...

It was Ashley.

Marshal had sent her to this base before.

Had it not been for Scott, her stay there would’ve been far more hellish than it already was.

"If you run into them," Ashley continued, her expression turning serious, "pull the trigger first."

She tapped one of the photographs.

"Kill them before they get the chance to move." Her finger shifted to the man’s forehead. "Aim here."

She looked around the table. "They’re skilled, but they’re also closet cowards. They wear bulletproof vests."

"Smart." Rum snorted. "But also cringe."

He studied the three photographs.

The first was a bald man whose entire scalp was covered in tattoos.

The second had long hair and enough ink covering his body that even the whites of his eyes seemed darker by comparison.

The third was much thinner with sunken cheeks, wide — very dilated — eyes, a neatly trimmed mustache, and several piercings that decorated his nose.

Ashley picked up the tablet and turned it toward everyone.

"I managed to get an updated blueprint of the base," she said. "There have been quite a few renovations since I was last here."

She proceeded to explain the entry routes, exits, blind spots, and every possible escape route the enemy might use.

As she spoke, Khan suddenly interrupted.

"You’ve been here before?"

Ashley looked up, only to see that everyone was staring at her with the same curiosity.

"Yep." She nodded casually before joking, "I used to be a Di Carpio. Of course I’ve been here before."

She had no intention of telling them why she’d been sent there. Nor what she’d endured during her short but miserable stay.

That part of the story wasn’t important.

The mission was.

"The only place you are absolutely forbidden from touching is this one." Ashley zoomed in on a section of the blueprint. "I’ll need a small team to come with me here."

"What’s in there?" Red asked immediately.

"People." Her answer came just as quickly. "They abduct women."
