Chapter 6
I sighed heavily
I had to straighten this kid out, right now.
“Who do they think they are, talking smack like that? They’re dead wrong.”
of I ever catch them, I give them hell. And a punch in the face.”
“But listen to me, Meg. You can’t talk about yourself that way.”
It breaks my heart.”
I kept ranting until I fell asleep.
I didn’t know what happened next.
While I slept, Meg snuggled up to me and watched over me.
Her dress flickered, shifting rapidly from blood-red to pure white and back again.

“It makes Mommy sad. I can’t make Mommy sad.”
The chat feed exploded.

[Holy shit. This newbie actually overwrote the Blood Girl’s stats. She’s the real deal.]

[Initial Players: 30. Survivors: 15.)
I fumbled for my phone, bleary-eyed, and checked the group chat.

Scarlett was busy playing the saint in the main chat, dishing out advice to the rookies.
Justin piped up occasionally to play bad cop.
[Why bother helping them? You’re too soft. Dead weight just drags us down.]
Scarlett shot back a sanctimonious reply.
[Fate brought us together. Let’s not be so calculating.]
Of course, the survivors were treating Scarlett like the Second Coming.
