My Stepbrother's Dirty Little Secret novel Chapter 426

Chapter 426

Then the back of my head and my shoulder blades collided violently with the wall. The impact knocked the wind clean out of my lungs, leaving me completely breathless.

He didn’t use his hands to hold my arms down. Instead, his fingers shot upward and clamped directly around the front of my throat.

He didn’t squeeze to choke me, but the pressure of his palm against my neck locked me firmly in place. It tilted my chin up toward the ceiling, forcing me to look directly into his face.

He looked completely out of his mind. His jaw was locked tight, a thick vein throbbing wildly against his temple, and his nostrils flared with every ragged breath he took. He looked so furious, that for one terrifying second, I genuinely thought he was going to hurt me.

Instead, he dropped his head and crashed his mouth straight down onto mine.

He smashed his lips against mine with so much violent force that my teeth slammed together, the sharp taste of copper instantly bursting across my tongue as the inside of my lip cut against my teeth.

I couldn’t breathe. His heavy face was pressing so hard against my nose and mouth that he was cutting off my oxygen completely. My chest heaved underneath his, desperate for air, but he didn’t give me an inch.

My hands pushed at his chest when a sharp, shattering noise echoed through the dark.

The panic inside me flared into a completely new kind of terror. With every single bit of strength left in my body, I planted both of my palms against Raphael’s chest and shoved him away from me.

His fingers slipped off my throat. He stumbled back a single step, his breathing rough and loud in the dark, his dark eyes still wild and completely black as he stared down at me, breathing heavily.

My back scraped against the hard wall as I scrambled away from him, my chest heaving as I sucked the cold hallway air back into my burning lungs. My lips felt swollen. My eyes frantically darted down toward the marble floor to see what had dropped.

A heavy ceramic bowl lay shattered into pieces right near the edge of the kitchen doorway. Bright red strawberries, blue berries, and slices of orange were scattered everywhere, rolling across the white stone floor.
