Chapter 592
“Move!”
Capone guards surged forward with frightening speed.
Cole’s men reached for their weapons but they never got the chance.
One guard twisted a man’s arm behind his back before he had even cleared his waistband. Another kicked a pistol across the concrete floor. Boots thundered in every direction as commands echoed through the room.
“Hands!”
“Down!”
“Don’t move!”
Within seconds, every weapon in the basement had been stripped away.
Cole took one step backward and that was all Raphael allowed him.
Raphael crossed the distance so quickly I barely saw him move, one moment he was standing beside the stairs. The next, his hand had closed around the front of Cole’s jacket.
The impact against the brick wall echoed through the basement. Dust drifted from the ceiling.
Cole let out a choked, wet wheeze, his eyes widening in pure horror as his legs dangled in the air.
Raphael didn’t say a word but he didn’t look like himself anymore. And the next moment, he shoved the barrel of his black Glock straight between Cole’s teeth.
He pushed it in deep, forcing the iron against the back of Cole’s throat until Cole’s jaw stretched open to its breaking point. Cole’s hands flew up, grabbing frantically at Raphael’s thick wrist, but Raphael’s arm didn’t even shake.
“One,” Raphael whispered, “Give me just one reason why I shouldn’t blow your fucking brains all over this wall right now.”
Raphael held him there without a word, his eyes locked onto Cole’s as though he were committing every detail of his face to memory.
Around them, the guards continued moving.
All the girls were forced onto their knees, while Mama D stood trembling, tears streaming down her face. A guard guided her aside as another searched the room for anything that could be used as a weapon.
