Chapter 678

Raphael didn’t even look up, “I smiled last Tuesday.”

Adriano blinked, “You scheduled it?”

“It happened.”

“When?”

“Killian ripped Vincenzo’s watch off his wrist, tried to chew on it, decided it wasn’t edible, then launched it across the room,” the corner of his mouth lifted ever so slightly, “It shattered. And Vincenzo just stood there. He couldn’t even be angry.”

Vincenzo let out a long, tired sigh, “Do you have any idea what that watch cost?”

Silvio grinned, “No.”

Adriano snorted, “I was hoping you’d tell us so I could laugh harder.”

“It was a one-of-one piece,” Vincenzo rubbed his forehead, “The Crown Prince of Dubai had it commissioned for me through a Swiss watchmaker as a personal gift.”

Dante leaned back in his chair, “That’s our nephew. Already destroying foreign relations.”

“Man, look at this table now,” Adriano scoffed, his voice loud and full of amusement. “We’ve got the whole collection back together. Honestly, Vincenzo, it’s beautiful how charitable you are. You’ve got Raphael and Gianna sitting right here like our own little special needs children.”

Dante let out a barking laugh, nearly choking on his food. “Holy shit, he’s right. One can’t read a map to save her life, and the other doesn’t even know what a smile is.”

“Hey, don’t laugh, it’s a full-time job keeping them alive,” Adriano continued, entirely unbothered by how mean it sounded. “We should get state funding for this.”

Raphael didn’t stop cutting his food. His knife moved through the meat but he never looked up, “Your classification is scientifically inaccurate, Adriano. Gianna has dyslexia and dysgraphia. I have severe alexithymia. Neither diagnosis qualifies either of us as intellectually impaired.”

He placed another piece of food onto his fork.
