My Stepbrother's Dirty Little Secret novel Chapter 759

Chapter 759

I closed my eyes.

It didn’t help.

All I saw was Gianna laughing.

Cake smeared across her face.

Mud on her clothes.

That smile.

And those eyes that fucked me for life.

I let out a slow breath through my nose and closed my eyes.

She belonged here.

With me.

With the Capones.

Instead, she was sleeping under another man’s roof. Walking his halls. Sitting at his table. Listening to his voice.

I didn’t give a fuck that he was her father.

All I cared about was that she was still within Caruso’s reach.

One wrong moment.

One locked door.

One order.

My jaw clenched. Every instinct I had screamed at me to bring her home, I couldn’t. Giovanni had made sure of

that.

He couldn’t stand against the Capones himself, so he’d taken the coward’s way out.

He’d dragged the Council into it.

Now it wasn’t a fight between two Families.

It was an order.

If I ignored it and took Gianna by force, the Council wouldn’t come after me.

They’d come after the Capones.

Four Families against one.

Every alliance we’d built. Every business. Every soldier. Every shipment. Every man carrying our name would become a target overnight.

That wasn’t a war, that was an execution dressed up as justice.

Giovanni knew exactly what he was doing. He knew he couldn’t beat us. So, he made sure the Council would. The thought sat in my chest like broken glass.

My jaw tightened. One order. That’s all it would take. One phone call. One convoy. One night. I could have her here before sunrise.

My eyes opened, the ceiling stared back at me.

I hated waiting. Waiting meant someone else still had control over the timing. I preferred removing that problem. A soft hiss brushed against my ear. Medusa nudged my jaw with the top of her head.

I scratched beneath her chin without thinking, “You don’t like waiting either.”

I leaned forward as the stack of unopened mail on the coffee table caught my attention.

It had all been sent to my office. The staff always brought my mail back to the estate and left it in my room. There was no official address for this place. If someone wanted to send us something directly, they’d have to leave it at our doorstep themselves.

Most of it ended up in the trash without being opened. I picked up the pile anyway. More to keep my hands busy than out of interest.

One envelope, straight into the trash. Another, where someone was asking for money.

The next envelope stopped me. It was plain, no company logo, no return address.

Nothing.

Only one word.

Raphael.

My name.

Just…

Raphael.

A small crease formed between my brows. I turned it over. The flap had been sealed by hand. I slipped a finger beneath the seal and pulled it open.

Something small slid free before I could look inside. It landed in my lap with a dull tap.

I looked down.

It was a memory card, the kind most people had stopped using years ago. One corner had snapped clean off, and a thin crack ran through the plastic. 2

I turned it over between my fingers.

Damaged.

But not beyond saving.

My eyes drifted back to the envelope, there was something else inside. A folded sheet of paper. I reached in and pulled it free.

The frown left my face. My eyes dropped to the first line. My grip tightened around the

paper.

There hadn’t been a return address because it had never been mailed. It had come from inside the house.

It was a letter addressed to me.

A very late update, but it’s finally here! I hope you guys enjoy it.

This chapter answers a few questions I’ve seen come across quite a bit-like how Giovanni managed to survive in this world. Despite his condition, he’s always been more than capable
