Yao Ran smiled, "Please, just call me Yao Ran. I do have a way to get food, but the price for cold-resistant potatoes might be lower than other food types."
Hearing this, Wu Lian's eyes lit up. He thought for a moment and asked, "How much food could we get for these antiques?"
Yao Ran glanced at the antiques and replied, "I can give you two hundred bags of new rice and some frozen meats."
A bag of rice weighs twenty kilograms, so two hundred bags would equal four tons. It's not much, but if they cook it into porridge and add some potatoes, it could sustain the soldiers for a few days.
After some thought, he looked at Yao Ran and said, "I want three hundred bags of rice and six hundred kilograms of meat for these antiques."
The black soil allowed Yao Ran to plant any type of seed, so she had managed to stock up on food since the world changed.
She had been growing rice and other grains in her space and could afford to give him that amount. However, she didn't want Wu Lian to think that it was easy for her to get food and meat.
With that in mind, Yao Ran showed some hesitation on her face and said, "I can't promise that I can get that much rice, but I will do my best."
Knowing how scarce food had become, Wu Lian nodded and sincerely said, "Thank you, Miss Yao."
He glanced at the antiques and asked, "Do you need help moving these?"
Yao Ran nodded, "Yes. The liquid fertilizer is already prepared in an abandoned building. We will need to move the antiques there."
"All right. I will have the soldiers transport them." Wu Lian said.
While he went to arrange for the soldiers to move the antiques, Yao Ran and Long Yu returned to the gate to wait for him.
Soon, they saw a military truck approaching, and Wu Lian was sitting in the passenger seat. When the soldier stopped the truck, he got down and said, "Miss Yao, please get in and lead the way."
Yao Ran nodded, and Long Yu helped her into the military truck. After closing the door for her, Long Yu climbed into the back of the truck.
Climbing up to the back of the truck, Wu Lian knocked on the glass that was dividing the driver's seat from the carriage behind.
Hearing the knock, the soldier started the truck and said to Yao Ran, "Miss, please lead the way."
"Alright." She replied.
With Yao Ran navigating the road, they left the community. Sitting in the back, Wu Lian looked at Long Yu and said, "I'm surprised to learn you have a girlfriend."
Long Yu glanced at him and said, "If you are envious, go find a girlfriend. Don't stare at mine."
Wu Lian smiled and said, "Alright."
Once the last of the antiques had been moved to the room, Wu Lian said, "Miss Yao, Captain Long, I need to report back to Commander Xu, so I will take my leave."
"Alright. See you next time." Long Yu said.
Wu Lian nodded and left with the soldiers. They watched the truck drive away and then went back inside.
Stepping into the room, Yao Ran quickly stored everything in her space. Then, she spread oilcloth on the ground.
She then took out 600 kilograms of fresh pork from her space and placed it on the oilcloth. As soon as the meat left her space and touched the cold air, it froze in just a few seconds. She then took out 300 bags of rice, which filled the room.
After closing the door, Yao Ran and Long Yu left the building. If they had guessed it right, Wu Lian would have likely sent someone to monitor the building tonight.
Back home, Yao Ran sends her consciousness into her space. Seeing that it has expanded again, she goes to the villa to see what has changed.
Unlike last time, only two bedrooms and a living room appeared on the third floor. Seeing a staircase, Yao Ran realized there might be a fourth floor. Besides the increase in size and the added floor, the fog covering the sky had also thinned.
Walking to the lake, Yao Ran looked at the calm water.
