Chapter 232: Unexpected Encounter

"Ouch! Miss Yao, Brother Long, it's me, Yuan Rihui!" Yuan Rihui shouted despite the pain in his face and neck.

Hearing the familiar voice, Yao Ran and Long Yu let him go. He rubbed his sore arm and wiped the blood off the back of his neck, wincing in pain.

As far as Yao Ran could remember, Yuan Rihui always wore clean clothes and had neat hair.

Looking at the man wrapped in dirty garments from head to toe, Yao Ran frowned and doubtfully asked, "Are you really Yuan Rihui?"

Yuan Rihui pulled down the cloth covering half of his face and said, "Miss Yao, it's me."

When Long Yu saw his face, he put his military dagger away and reminded Yuan Rihui, "Brother Yuan, you shouldn't touch someone from behind. You could lose your life if we don't stop in time."

Yuan Rihui grimaced in pain while rubbing his arm. He looked at them for a moment before saying, "Miss Yao, Brother Long, can we talk for a moment?"

Yao Ran and Long Yu exchanged glances before nodding at Yuan Rihui.

"Please, come with me." Yuan Rihui said, leading them into the trading center.

Since the flood receded, the trading center has expanded. Previously, the military used only the top five floors as trading spaces, but now they also rent out lower floors to survivors.

As one of the biggest black market dealers, Ling Yi had rented half of the third floor and opened his own trading center.

While Yuan Rihui guided them to an office at the back, Yao Ran looked at the items sold in the stalls and found that Ling Yi's business actually covered almost everything.

The items covered range from the most common sought-after items, such as food and water, to uncommon and expensive items, such as cosmetics and jewelry.

When the stall workers saw Yuan Rihui, they greeted him one after another. "Brother Yuan."

Yuan Rihui nodded at them and opened the office door. He then let Yao Ran and Long Yu enter first before instructing one of the men outside, "Please bring two cups of water for my guests."

Everyone knew how precious water was, and Yuan Rihui's serving water to his guests showed the importance of these two visitors.

"Yes, Brother Yuan." The man replied, hurrying off to fetch the water.

After closing the door, Yuan Rihui took a seat on the sofa in front of his guests.

Long Yu looked at him and asked, "Brother Yuan, what would you like to discuss with us?"

Yao Ran chuckled and said, "Brother Yuan, it's best not to ask too many questions. Don't you know curiosity killed the cat?"

Yuan Rihui met her gaze and shuddered. Her eyes were calm, yet staring into them made him feel that if he was not careful, his life might end in the next second. Swallowing his fear, Yuan Rihui cleared his throat with a light cough and took a sip of water.

He then asked, "Miss Yao, do you have a sample? I need to check the quality of the water before we can discuss the price."

Yao Ran opened her backpack, took out a plastic bottle filled with diluted lake water, and placed it on the low table between them.

Seeing the clear water inside the bottle, Yuan Rihui reached out to inspect it more closely. The water is so clear and transparent, without a trace of impurities. Comparing the water in the bottle with the water in the cup, Yuan Rihui suddenly felt that he was drinking sewage water. After a careful inspection, he set the bottle of water back on the low table and looked at Yao Ran.

"Miss Yao, can you supply two water tanks a day?" He asked calmly.

With her water element ability at the peak of level two, Yao Ran could provide him with two water tanks daily without a problem. However, she didn't plan to give him that much water, as she also wanted to supply water to the military camp.

After thinking about it, she replied, "Brother Yuan, you know how scarce water is. Asking for two tanks a day is quite a lot."

Yuan Rihui frowned slightly and asked, "Then how much can you give me?"
