Chapter 244: Li Tianyu’s Advise

Long Yu thought for a moment and said, "Captain Li, I thought you had quit smoking. Didn't your commander want you to quit so you could live longer?"

Li Tianyu sighed and shrugged, "I have tried, but with the stress of our missions, I have been craving them more these days."

Seeing his pitiful expression, Long Yu said, "Wait here for a moment."

After saying that, Long Yu walked back to the truck, knocking on the passenger-side window to get Yao Ran's attention. When she lowered the window, he asked, "Ran Ran, do you have any cigarettes?"

She looked at him and asked, "How many do you need?"

Long Yu glanced at Li Tianyu and answered, "Just a few pieces are enough."

Yao Ran looked at Li Tianyu for a moment, then nodded at Long Yu. She then took out a pack of cigarettes she had found in the wealthy CEO's office. She didn't know the exact cost, but given how wealthy that CEO was, the cigarettes were probably quite expensive.

Handing him the cigarettes, she said, "I still have plenty in my warehouse if you need more."

Long Yu thanked her, then walked back to Li Tianyu, whose eyes lit up at the sight of the cigarettes in Long Yu's hand.

"How much supplied do you want for this pack?" Li Tianyu asked eagerly.

Long Yu tossed him the cigarettes and said, "Just take it."

Grinning, Li Tianyu thanked him and opened the cigarettes, inhaling the scent before slipping it into his pocket.

"Are you heading to the Juncheng military base?" He asked.

"I will, but not now." Long Yu replied.

Li Tianyu was silent for a moment and said, "You might want to wait until the first phase of construction is complete."

Sensing something was hidden between his words, Long Yu asked, "Do you know something?"

Li Tianyu lowered his voice and explained, "My boss and Commander Xu agreed not to send medicine or supplies to the central government. We are on our own now and might even face conflicts with those people in the central government."

Long Yu wasn't surprised by this news. Commander Xu had made his stance clear when he received the order to send medicine and supplies back to Shoudu City.

Seeing that Long Yu was not surprised, Li Tianyu knew that he already knew about this matter.

He sighed, patted Long Yu on the shoulder, and said, "I need to get back to work. If you need more water, just come here."

He patted his pocket and chuckled, "For the sake of this pack of expensive cigarettes, I will make sure you get more water whenever you come here."

After nodding to Yao Ran from afar, Li Tianyu walked away.

Once Long Yu was back in the truck, Yao Ran asked, "Finished talking?"

Long Yu started the truck and answered, "Yes. He advised us to wait until the first phase of construction at the base is finished. It seems the people working for the central government are coming to demand supplies."

By the time they walked into the underground parking lot, Yao Ran had nearly finished filling all the water containers and decided not to fill the remaining empty containers when she saw the survivors coming.

When the building manager saw Yao Ran step down from the truck's compartment, he anxiously asked, "Miss, why are you back so soon? Did you get the water?"

Yao Ran nodded, "Yes. Give me a moment to grab the notebook."

Without waiting for his response, she opened the passenger door, retrieved her backpack, and

took out a notebook and pen.

Walking back while opening the notebook, Yao Ran asked, "Did you all bring your water containers?"

The building manager nodded quickly and replied, "Yes. We bring them with us."

"Good. I will call out names to distribute the water. When you get your share, please sign next

to your name before leaving. I don't want anyone coming back later, claiming they didn't get

their water." Yao Ran explained calmly.

Everyone nodded in agreement after listening to her explanation.

Looking at the names in the notebook, Yao Ran calmly said, "Building manager, you will receive ten liters of water."
