Long Qian punched the ground and angrily thought, 'Just you wait! Once I tell my elder brother about this, it will be your death anniversary!'
As he imagined his revenge on Yao Ran, the indescribable taste lingering in his mouth made him nauseous, and he vomited again. "Blergh!"
The chief bodyguard looked at the ceiling in horror and muttered, "That woman is truly ruthless. I never thought that she would torture us with food."
Hearing what he said, Long Qian's originally pale face suddenly turned red from anger as he furiously shouted, "That wasn't food! It is a bioweapon!"
While Long Qian and the bodyguards were still vomiting and having stomachaches, Yao Ran took out a bicycle from her space, rode it, and hurried back to Tower F after leaving the Main Hall.
By the time she arrived home, Long Yu had already showered and was waiting for her while reading a book.
The moment she stepped inside, Long Yu smelled the metallic scent of blood in the air. He looked up and frowned when he saw Yao Ran smiling as she walked in. Putting down the book, Long Yu stood up and approached her.
Seeing this, Yao Ran smiled and asked, "A Yu, I'm sorry for coming back so late. What do you want for lunch?"
Instead of answering her question, Long Yu examined her from head to toe and asked, "Were you injured?"
Realizing he must have smelled the blood on her, Yao Ran held his arms and reassured him, "I'm fine. The blood isn't mine."
Seeing his furrowed brows, Yao Ran added, "I have something to tell you. But first, I need to take a shower."
Long Yu looked at her for a few seconds before nodding. "Alright."
After watching Yao Ran walk into the bathroom, Long Yu sat back on the couch and continued reading his book.
Before long, Yao Ran finished her shower and sat down beside Long Yu. She then took out two bowls of steamed white rice, a portion of Kung Pao chicken, a bowl of sour and spicy fish soup, and a plate of stir-fried vegetables.
After handing him a bowl of rice and a pair of chopsticks, Yao Ran asked, "A Yu, do you have a younger cousin brother?"
Hearing this question, Long Yu's hand paused in the middle of scooping the soup before he continued to ladle soup into Yao Ran's bowl.
Placing the bowl of soup in front of her, he asked, "Why do you suddenly ask about this?"
Yao Ran noticed the slight change in his mood and explained, "I met someone today. He claimed to be your younger cousin and said his name is Long Qian."
When Long Yu heard this, his eyes darkened. "Did he do something to you?" he asked, his voice cold.
Sensing the chill in his tone, Yao Ran chuckled and replied, "It's me who did something to him."
Raising his brows slightly, Long Yu waited for her to continue.
Taking a sip of the soup, Yao Ran began, "Yesterday, when I went out to take a mission, three men followed me and tried to kidnap me."
Feeling her warmth, Long Yu smiled and said, "I'm fine. It's all in the past. I severed my ties with the Long family long ago. If they dare come after you again, just tell me—I will deal with them."
Hearing this, Yao Ran smiled and kissed him on the lips. "Alright."
After that, they continued their lunch, chatting about their mornings.
The next day, someone knocked on Yao Ran and Long Yu's door early in the morning.
Knock, knock, knock.
When Yao Ran opened the door and saw a little boy standing there, she smiled and asked, "Do you need something, Little Brother?"
The little boy smiled back and said, "Elder Sister Yao Ran, someone wants to see you. He is waiting downstairs right now."
Counting the time, Yao Ran guessed the visitor should be Hao Ze. She nodded and handed the little boy a few milk truffles. "Thank you for letting me know."
The little boy's face lit up with a bright smile. "Thank you for the candy, Elder Sister Yao Ran!"
