Chapter 2
Three days later, I walked back into the dorm, loaded down with shopping bags.
“Anya, did you win the lottery or something? Why do you have so many things?” one of my roommates asked.
I grinned from ear to ear, I said, “Seasonal sale. Got some good deals.”
Seraphina, who was doing her makeup in front of the mirror, shot me a side glance, her tone laced with sarcasm.
“Isn’t Easton super generous? Didn’t he send you any money? He used to buy me designer bags all
the time for no reason.”
I set the bags down, leaned over to rub her shoulders, and put on a flattering smile.
“Actually, this is all thanks to you! I could only afford this stuff because of his money.”
“Seriously, if you hadn’t passed this catch my way, I’d have no clue how I’d be getting by this
month.”
Seraphina’s face darkened a little, and she asked casually, “How much did you
score?”
“Altogether, about fifteen hundred. Enough to last me a good while.” I lied without missing a beat.
The second the words left my mouth, the faint irritation on Seraphina’s face vanished, replaced by something almost like disdain.
“That’s it? The bags he bought me used to cost tens of thousands each.”
“Do you think he found out we switched?”
I pursed my lips, putting on a thoughtful expression. “Probably not. But he said the company’s been having some trouble lately, and he doesn’t have time to play games. Do you think he’s broke?”
A sneer tugged at Seraphina’s lips. She patted my shoulder and put on a magnanimous look.
“If he’s broke, just find another one. Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty more guys in my book. I’ll pass a few more off to you later.”
She turned to our other two roommates then. “You guys want in? I can share some with you too, just for fun.”

The two of them were local rich kids. They wanted nothing to do with this kind of game and just
shook their heads.
I was the only one who gushed my thanks to Seraphina.
“Seraphina, you’re literally an angel! If I ever marry into wealth, I’ll send you so many premium. collagen drinks you could literally bathe in them.”
Seraphina frowned in disgust and turned back to her makeup.
I busied myself with unboxing packages and trying on new clothes.
A flurry of comments flashed before my eyes.
[Wow, this side character is so scheming!]
[It was actually $50,000 and $10,000, and she lied to Seraphina and said it was just a few hundred
bucks!]
[Oh no, Seraphina thinks Easton’s broke now, she’ll look down on him even more.]
[Seraphina, wake up! All the losers in your little black book combined aren’t worth a single finger of Easton’s! He’s the only heir to the richest family in the country!]
The only heir to the richest family?
That made me even more relieved.
After unwrapping all the packages, I lay on my bed and texted Easton.
[Sweetie, are you done working? I dozed off just now and had this horrible dream that you found someone else. Woke up crying, no joke…]
After sending it, I found the perfect angle and took a side profile photo of myself.
The corners of my eyes were slightly red, looking delicate and pitiful, and the key was to show off the beauty mark at the corner of my eye.
I scrolled through their chat history. Seraphina had never sent a photo of her face; all her social media posts were just back shots.
She was tall and had a great figure, but I was no slouch either.
Easton had liked one of Seraphina’s social media posts before, and he’d never even asked which one

was Seraphina.
To keep her mysterious persona, Seraphina hadn’t even told him her real name; Easton had always called her by her game ID: TinyMarsh.
[Babe! The position of that beauty mark at the corner of your eye is exactly the same as mine!]
Right after that, Easton sent a close–up selfie of himself.
In the photo, the man had a high, straight nose, deep eye sockets, a lazy smirk on his lips, and he was drop–dead gorgeous.
[I guess this is just fate giving us couple marks, huh? Babe, you’re so hot. I wanna kiss you.]
[I’ll fly back to see you as soon as I finish this project! Babe, I love you!]
[Zelle transfer received: $1,000,000.]
A million!
Okay, Easton? Solid dude. Definitely keep–worthy.
I fired off a string of kiss emojis and started shooting him flirty lines.
[Sweetie, I’m gonna kiss you silly when we meet.]
[And I’m gonna touch every inch of your abs.]
[Take good care of that royal body of yours, okay? ‘Cause the day we meet? That’s the day your chastity meets its match.]
