No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 506

Hugh politely greeted the Fergusons before walking over to Hamlin.

“Mr. Quinn,” Hugh began, “I don’t know if Mrs. Quinn’s accusation of aggravated assault against Dr. Watkins will hold up in court. But if you condone your wife’s actions, I can guarantee that certain members of the Quinn family will see the inside of a jail cell first.”

Fiona pointed a finger at Hugh and shouted, “Claudia is Mr. Ferguson’s ex-wife! Even the Fergusons won’t protect her, so what gives you the right to meddle?”

Celia chimed in, “Exactly, Mr. Ferguson. Mrs. Quinn is pregnant and was seriously hurt. You shouldn’t get involved in this mess. A socialite cast-off isn’t worth your trouble.”

Hamlin eyed Hugh defensively. “Mr. Ferguson, what exactly is your relationship with Dr. Watkins?”

Hugh scanned the crowd and answered openly, “Dr. Watkins has no connection to the Ferguson family. It’s only natural that they wouldn’t protect her.”

Then, his tone shifted. “However, Dr. Watkins is my son’s aunt. And for her, I would do anything.”

“Dr. Watkins’s business is my business,” Hugh declared. “Her enemies are my eternal enemies. Let there be no doubt about that.”

Hugh’s stance was clear, but his wording was subtle.

He once again specified that Claudia was his son’s aunt, stating he would do anything for her and stand against anyone who opposed her. Yet he maintained a careful distance, never explicitly defining the true nature of their relationship.

Hugh turned to Claudia. “I’ll wait for you in the car.”

Claudia shook her head. “No, I’ll leave with you.”

After a polite farewell to the others, Hugh and Claudia got into his car and drove away.

York watched Claudia walk away from him, side-by-side with Hugh.

He instinctively took a step forward to stop her, but Peter blocked his path.

York’s gaze met Peter’s, his deep eyes utterly lifeless.

Mark, seeing his boss’s alarming state, quickly scrambled into the driver's seat. “Mr. Ferguson, I should drive.”

York leaned his head back against the seat, his eyes slowly closing. “To The Imperial Club.”

Mark glanced at his boss with concern but did as he was told.

At nine o’clock in the evening, Hugh safely dropped Claudia off at her home.

Claudia unbuckled her seat belt and thanked him repeatedly. “Mr. Ferguson, I really owe you for what happened today. I’ll have to invite you over for dinner sometime.”

Looking at Claudia’s earnest expression, Hugh couldn’t help but let out a low laugh. “Dr. Watkins, there’s really no need to worry about it. This was just a small matter to me, hardly more than lifting a finger.”

But Claudia insisted on showing her gratitude.

Hugh nodded. “If you really want to thank me, Dr. Watkins, how about taking some time next week to attend a parent-teacher meeting for my kid?”
