No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 517

York watched Claudia’s gentle, careful movements.

It felt like a sharp dagger was twisting in his heart, the pain making it harder and harder to breathe.

They had known each other for over twenty years, since they were children.

He knew how stubborn she was, how much of a perfectionist she was, and how much she had cared about him.

So why did he have to go and take care of Ann?

York slammed his fist into the hospital corridor wall.

As his hand slowly fell away, it left a thick streak of blood on the wall.

Over an hour later, when Peter and Rock found him, York was already blind drunk.

York pointed a wounded right finger at Rock. "What are you doing here?"

Rock plopped down onto the coffee table. "This club is not owned by the Ferguson. Why can't I be here?"

York shot Rock a glare and poured himself another drink.

Peter stepped in, taking the glass away. "Darleen called me. She said your parents are fighting badly. Wendy already took Darleen back to the Vance family home."

Rock clicked his tongue. "A man who dares to fight with his own wife… he's really something else."

York stared at Rock with a numb expression.

"You're right," he said. "None of the men in the Ferguson family are any good."

Rock looked at York, then cautiously stood up and backed away.

He pointed at York and said to Peter, "Peter, is he… is he…?"

Peter frowned in distaste. "He's lost his mind. Ignore him."

Rock then asked York, "I heard Mr. Ferguson was injured. Is it serious?"

Claudia's sincerity was a trait she inherited from her parents.

The entire Watkins family was like that; Eddy Watkins, in particular, was straightforward to a fault, without a malicious bone in his body.

Peter noticed York's expression was off and walked over. "Where's your medication? Let me get it for you."

York clenched the already empty glass in his hand, his voice low and his eyes vacant.

The moment he had sworn on the island not to bother Claudia again, his heart had already died.

No medicine could save him now.

York closed his eyes in agony. "I'm fine," he said.

Peter knew York wasn't truly drunk. He sat down beside him and poured him a glass of water.

"York," Peter urged, "you know what you mean to the Ferguson family, to Ferguson Group. You have to pull yourself together. Don't make everyone worry about you."
