No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 568

York met his father’s furious gaze and said, word by word, “You have more than one son. If you continue to interfere in my marriage and blame the Watkins family, I will give up my position as the Ferguson heir and make way for someone else!”

With that, York bent down, picked up his jacket, and walked out of the Ferguson Mansion.

Old Mr. Ferguson collapsed onto the sofa, stiff with anger.

Sewell was a mess of fury, anxiety, and helplessness. “That damn brat!”

Wendy was worried but didn't say much.

Sewell paced back and forth in agitation. “The wedding is in three days! That brat won't get married, and he won't get engaged. What are we going to do now?”

Wendy said, “Since York took over the company, he’s weathered all kinds of storms. You chose to trust him, so you should see it through. Since you put him in charge, you shouldn’t interfere so much. Let him handle the fallout from this.”

Her own marriage into the Vance family had been for a business alliance, and she had endured it for years to get to this day.

Everything the Ferguson family had could only belong to her son and daughter.

Old Mr. Ferguson finally composed himself.

He ordered Butler Palmer, “Investigate Ann. If she dares to step out of line, you know what to do!”

As he finished, Old Mr. Ferguson shot Palmer a ruthless look.

Butler Palmer accepted his orders and hurried away.

Old Mr. Ferguson then said to his son, Sewell, “A fallen socialite was never good enough for York anyway. It’s not necessarily a bad thing that he’s not marrying her. Inform the PR department to prepare a statement canceling the wedding.”

Hearing the patriarch’s decision, Wendy turned away without a word.

The patriarch only saw the Ferguson Group, only saw profits.

The only reason he was compromising was that there was no one else to replace her son as heir.

Wendy scoffed and returned to her room.

The next morning, Claudia was having breakfast with her family.

As they were gathered around the table discussing buying a house, they saw York on television, giving an interview to reporters.

Fortunately, the Ferguson family had looked down on the bankrupt Watkins family and insisted on not revealing her identity as the bride before the wedding.

Now, that had saved her a lot of trouble.

Just then, the phone charging in the living room rang.

After taking a call from Gideon Harvest, Claudia hurried out.

At ten in the morning, the two of them emerged from an auction house, and Claudia felt a weight lift off her shoulders.

Gideon looked at Claudia’s goofy grin and couldn’t help but smile himself. “See you Monday.”

Claudia watched Gideon get into his car and drive away.

She quickly clutched her bag tightly.

Her mother’s jewelry had sold for nearly 1.6 billion, more than enough to pay back everything she owed York, with a considerable amount left over.

She had two days until her internship at the Harvest hospital started on Monday. Tomorrow, she would move her parents and brother out of York’s house.
