No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 64

She wanted a simple marriage, one with just two people.

She wanted a husband who didn't have to be perfect, but who was clean—physically and emotionally—and who truly belonged only to her.

York's heart was tainted.

He himself was tainted.

No matter how much she liked him, no matter how much she loved him, she didn't want him anymore.

Crying, Claudia picked up her phone and called her father, Felix.

When the call connected, Claudia fought to keep her voice steady, but a sob broke through. "Dad, I want to come home."

On the other end, Felix simply asked, "Where are you, sweetie?" After Claudia gave him the address, he hung up.

Darleen knew Claudia was serious this time.

She quickly called her mother, Wendy, and asked her to come over.

Darleen sat by the bed, holding Claudia's hand, and asked gently, "Claudia, do you regret marrying my brother?"

Claudia gripped Darleen's hand, her eyelashes fluttering violently.

She said, "I do regret it. And I truly can't face the way things are now."

Outside the door, York's fingers trembled on the handle.

It was the first time he had ever heard the word 'regret' from Claudia's lips.

Peter glanced at York's stunned expression and pushed the door open.

York walked to the bedside, his deep eyes fixed on Claudia.

Darleen came over anxiously. "Brother, Claudia called her family. I asked Mom to come too."

York hesitated, then sat down on the edge of the bed. He leaned toward Claudia, resting one hand beside her.

York stood up. "Dad, Mom, what are you doing here?"

With others present, Felix tried to save York some face. "I heard Claudia was hurt, so your mother and I came to see her."

York glanced at Claudia, his eyes filled with guilt. "Dad, Mom, it's my fault. I didn't take good care of her."

Jessica stood by the bed, examining Claudia's injuries.

Claudia's chin trembled, and she bit her lip hard, fighting back tears.

Jessica knew her daughter. Since she was a child, she only made that face when she was truly, deeply hurt.

Jessica's heart ached so much she almost cried. "Honey, what happened? How did you get hurt?"

Claudia was overwhelmed with sorrow.

Just like when she was a little girl, she threw her arms around Jessica and cried, "Mommy, hold me."
