York drove to the entrance of Watkins Manor.

He took out his phone and sent a message to Claudia Watkins, asking her to come downstairs.

In the few minutes he waited, York couldn't calm his agitated heart.

He kept checking his phone.

Claudia's parents had just spoken with her on the phone and were about to go to bed when they heard a knock on the door.

York looked past him into the living room. "Father, Mother, I'm here to talk to Claudia about something."

Jessica told York, "Claudia has gone abroad for her studies. She's not home."

The news that Claudia had left the country made York's face fall. "Mother, when did this happen?"

As a husband, he had been completely unaware that his own wife had gone abroad.

Felix got up and opened the door. "We've said what we needed to say. Go home and think it over. Get the divorce papers signed as soon as possible."

Despite their devastation over Claudia and their rage at York's betrayal, her parents took the high road, maintaining their composure and avoiding any bitter outbursts.

York stood and looked at Jessica's back.

He hesitated for a moment before walking to the door.
