No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1008

Noelle looked up at the dormitory building, noticing that the last flames had already been extinguished. Suddenly, she felt like something had sharply pierced her brain, causing pain so intense she nearly fainted.

Cedric noticed Noelle's distress and asked, "What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing, really. Just feeling dizzy, maybe from the smoke inhalation," she replied, a sharp hiss escaping her as stabbing pain pierced through her skull.

Cedric frowned and looked up at the helicopter crew. He barked, "To the hospital, now!"

Noelle actually wanted to stop Cedric to tell him the hospital wasn't necessary since she wasn't seriously hurt. Yet, before she could speak, she lost consciousness.

Cedric saw Noelle pass out and used almost all his strength to hold her, preventing her from falling. His injured arm tore open again, fresh blood spurting out and staining his white shirt red. However, his mind was completely focused on Noelle, and he couldn't care less about anything else.

The helicopter quickly landed on the rooftop of the Greene family's private medical facility, Aristelle Hospital, where a team of doctors was already waiting. Cedric placed Noelle carefully on the gurney and explained, "She passed out after complaining about a headache."

The hospital director, Andrew, instructed, "Take her to the ER."

Cedric grabbed Andrew's arm, his voice slightly trembling. "She's afraid of fire and probably inhaled harmful gases, and she has psychological trauma."

"Understood. We'll check her physical condition first and then address any psychological issues. As for you, your arm has opened up again.

"Get that looked at before it leaves permanent damage," Andrew said before walking away, too busy to deal with Cedric further.

It was only then that Cedric noticed the blood from his arm had soaked through his shirt. His secretary, Kevin, hurried over. "Mr. Greene, let's get that bandaged first."

"No need," Cedric replied.

"Ms. Liddell won't be out for a while, and she'll worry and feel guilty if she learns you didn't treat your wound," Kevin reasoned.

Blake immediately clutched his chest. "Thank goodness! I'm glad there's no injury!"

However, Carl remained visibly uneasy. "No external injuries doesn't necessarily mean she's truly okay. Fire smoke carries toxic particles that can damage the body if inhaled in large quantities."

Alfred looked over at him. "Don't be so pessimistic. Nelly isn't that careless—she would have protected herself."

Carl responded, "I'm just analyzing the situation. I hope more than anyone that nothing serious has happened."

At that moment, the emergency room doors opened. Andrew walked out and explained, "Her physical examination shows no major problems, but she inhaled some harmful gases and needs medication to clear her lungs."

After hearing this, Carl immediately spoke up. "I'm taking her with me."

Cedric stood up, his gaze cold as he said, "No way."
