Seeing the Merlock family fall into ruin brought Noelle a deep sense of satisfaction. The evil finally met its karma.
Years ago, the Merlocks had caused her parents' deaths and stolen their project, leading to success over the years. Now, they were finally paying the price.
Noelle's mood improved significantly. Just then, she received a message from Carl. "It's such a good day. Why don't you come home for dinner?"
Noelle paused after reading it. Today sure was a good day, but the last thing she wanted was to have dinner with the Liddells.
Still, she had promised Carl she'd come by and needed something from them. After thinking about it, she replied, "Alright."
Carl sent another message. "Anything special you'd like to eat?"
"No."
She left it at that and did not reply further.
That evening, just before driving to the Liddell residence, she sent Cedric a message: "Any updates from the hospital? Have you found any clues?"
"We've made some progress and caught the doctor. Still interrogating for details."
Since they'd found the person who poisoned Emma, everything would unfold soon enough. Ruth had schemed for so long and waited for this moment. Unfortunately, it'd never happen again.
Noelle started her car and drove to the Liddell residence. Upon her arrival, Barnaby came out to greet her politely. "Welcome home, Ms. Liddell."
Noelle gave a slight smile. "Has Xenia been behaving lately?"
Xenia was nowhere in sight.
When Noelle approached, Frank stood up and said, "You're back. Let's pay our respects to Mom and Dad."
Noelle didn't ask why. Instead, she walked up to the memorial and stood at the center, facing the black-and-white portraits of their parents.
Softly, she said, "Mom, it took me so many years to remember what really happened in that crash. Am I stupid? You tried so hard to push me out of the car so I could survive."
Frank intercepted, "Mom and Dad wanted you to live."
Donovan turned to look at her. "We heard you saw someone at the scene. Is there something else we don't know?"
