Noelle observed Sean's reaction as she wondered why he was insisting on seeing Xenia. She wondered if Sean had realized something.
Frank then spoke up, "Seeing her won't change anything. The paternity test is already more than enough proof."
Noelle then noticed Sean's expression shifting as if he was deep in thought. She wondered if he was about to change his mind and testimony because Xenia's child was not part of the Liddells.
Meanwhile, Ruth's expression seemed even worse. She knew that once the two pieces of evidence were presented, the nature of her case would be entirely different.
Jeremy then made a final summary of the case while strongly recommending that Ruth be given the death sentence due to her vile conduct.
The color drained from Ruth's face when she heard the words 'death sentence.' She would have crashed onto the floor had someone not been supporting her.
She had thought that she would only be given life imprisonment at worst and would still be able to live out the rest of her days. She did not expect that the Liddells actually intended to give her the death sentence.
Ruth had no choice but to turn to her daughters for help. "Help me! Think of something, anything!"
Samantha started to tear up. "I'll try to figure something out, Mom!"
Laura, however, just remained silent in her seat. Samantha then turned to her and said, "Laura, you gotta think of something, please!"
Laura replied coldly, "Aren't you the one who said you'll think of something? Why are you turning to me for help now?
"Do I look like I'm a genie that can grant wishes or something? You should clean up your own mess yourself."
She was utterly exhausted, physically and mentally. She had nothing left to sacrifice.
Samantha was displeased. "Did Mom and Dad raise you for nothing? Mom has always treated you the best ever since we were little. She gave you everything you wanted!"
