Hearing Salena call Ivy a liar again, Noelle gave the former a surprised look.

This was the second time she'd heard Salena say that.

Perhaps because Ivy bore a striking resemblance to Xenia, and now knowing that Ivy's biological mom once worked as a con artist in PZ Group, Noelle had become especially sensitive to the word "liar".

Mia said, "If you say she's a liar, tell us what she's lied about."

Salena turned to glare at Ivy. "Say it yourself; are you or are you not a liar?"

Ivy gave a bitter smile. "Since you say I am, sure. I'm a liar."

Salena gritted her teeth and hissed, "You sure are one."

Mia stared her down and stepped in to say, "You should leave. I won't let you take Eason."

"Just wait, Mia. You'll regret this one day. She's a born actress, and you've all been fooled."

With a final glare at Ivy, Salena turned and stormed off. Seeing that she'd left, the relatives had no reason to stay and quickly followed her out.

Ivy looked up at Mia and thanked her, saying, "Thank you for standing up for me."

"You helped me once. Let's just call it even," Mia replied, pursing her lips.

"To be honest, Eason has always wanted to come home, but I was afraid Salena would try something and never dared bring him back."

Mia frowned slightly. "You don't have to be afraid of her anymore. If you want to come back, just do it."

Ivy smiled. She nudged Eason next to her and urged. "Eason, go ahead and thank Mia."

Eason glanced awkwardly at Mia before lowering his head and mumbling, "Thank you, Mia."

In truth, Mia didn't have much of a relationship with Eason. She'd always known he existed, but because she resented her dad for cheating and fathering an illegitimate child, she'd kept her distance.

Noelle gave her a hug and said, "I believe you can break free too. You're not alone; you have us."

"I know," Mia said and firmly nodded.

That was when Cedric suddenly turned to Mia and said, "Salena called Ivy a liar just now. What's that about? Do you know anything?"

"That part confuses me too. I've heard Aunt Salena talk about it, and she seems to think Ivy's background is fake.

"I looked into it. Ivy's résumé was forged and curated to appeal to wealthy circles."

Noelle blurted out almost immediately, "Are you talking about socialite training classes?"

Mia nodded. "Yeah, but I didn't find anything aside from that. Aunt Salena has always disliked Ivy, probably because she took those socialite training classes. So now, she calls her a liar."

"So, that's what this is about."
