Noelle felt uneasy and turned away, deciding not to cross paths with them.
Since the lawsuit ended, she hadn't had any contact with the Liddells. Frank had sent her a few messages at first, but she never replied. Eventually, he gave up too.
It was as if everything had quietly ended.
As soon as Noelle appeared, Donovan immediately noticed her and his eyes followed her as she walked away. Laura followed his gaze and spotted Noelle too.
A cold smile curled on Laura's lips before she turned and walked off.
Frank glanced at Donovan and said, "I heard Maple Enterprise is making fast progress with their new product."
Donovan nodded. "I know. Noelle's gained quite a name for herself in the industry. Just a few days ago, I had dinner with some investors, and they were all praising me for having such an outstanding sister. I could only give a bitter smile."
"Yeah," Frank said with a sigh. "If we hadn't been blinded by Xenia back then, and things hadn't gotten so bad between us and Noelle, maybe we could've responded to those compliments with pride."
A bitter look crossed Frank's face. "She doesn't even reply to my messages anymore. She seems to be doing better without us."
Donovan could only offer a weak smile. He felt the same.
They had thought the lawsuit's end would mean the end of their troubles. But now, it seemed like the real punishment had only just begun.
Meanwhile, Noelle circled the venue, calmly analyzing the information presented.
Suddenly, Laura appeared beside her, wearing a smug smile. "Noelle, I heard your company is getting involved in the EV project?"
Noelle looked at Laura, who was now all glitz and glam like she owned the place. Not long ago, she was still beaten down and brooding like a spiteful ex.
Noelle responded flatly, "That's right. Are you worried?"
"Don't be ridiculous. PZ Group is an international giant. How could we be afraid of a startup like yours? You only got this far because Cedric has your back. Without him, who do you think you are?"
