No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 654

Xenia completely broke down. "If I keep enduring this, I'm going to die."

"Go for now. I'll figure out a way to make sure the Liddells don't dare treat you like this again," the man replied.

Xenia hesitated but eventually followed the middle-aged man into the car dealership. Watching from a distance, Noelle narrowed her eyes and asked in a low voice, "Where do you think they're going?"

"We've already got someone undercover working there. They live in the employee dorms, so we can't risk getting too close, or we might blow our cover," Tilly explained.

Then, she glanced at the driver and asked, "Did you catch what they were saying?"

The driver replied, "Xenia told him she couldn't stand being treated like a housekeeper anymore. The guy said he had a plan to stop the Liddells from treating her like that."

Noelle looked at the driver, surprised. She had not expected him to be a lip-reader. She thought for a moment and said, "They're probably going to use the human-AI project as leverage. It's the only thing that could shift Donovan's attitude—if he starts backing her again, she'll be able to stay in the Liddell residence."

As for Wyatt? That useless idiot was not even part of the equation.

Tilly nodded. "If that's the case, we need to keep a close watch on PZ Group. Let's dig into why they're really working with the Liddells. We should have something soon."

"Did we plant someone in PZ Group, too?" Noelle asked casually.

Tilly nodded. "Yeah. Mr. Greene's been suspicious of them for a while, so he's already sent people to investigate the company from the inside."

That was good news. If Cedric had started doubting PZ Group, then maybe, this time, he would not have gotten conned like he did in their last life.

Noelle waited outside for a bit longer. Sure enough, Xenia eventually snuck out the back and took a cab back to the Liddell residence. Whatever she and Sean's cousin, Thomas Quigley, discussed, it was unclear. But what was strange was that she still had not contacted Sean.

He was still alive—so where the hell was he? It was not like people could just vanish into thin air. Still, when it came time to split the money, Sean would have to show up eventually.

The moment the words left her mouth, Wyatt's face turned stormy. He glared at Xenia. "You're not going to the office."

Xenia panicked. She looked at Donovan. "Donovan, I'm just trying to work. It's not what Noelle made it sound like, I swear."

Donovan finally looked up. "Don't be ridiculous, Wyatt. If no one works, where do you think your money for expenses comes from?"

Wyatt shut up reluctantly, clearly unhappy about it. Then, Noelle chuckled and suggested, "Hey, maybe Wyatt should go to the office too. It could be helpful, right?"

Wyatt nodded quickly. "You're right. I'll go with Xenia."

However, Xenia's expression turned stiff. If Wyatt was tagging along, how was she supposed to pull off anything behind the scenes?

Liddell Corporation was supposed to transfer funds next week, and this was the critical window. She could not afford any mistakes. What the hell was she supposed to do now?
