"You say my father killed your parents. But do you have any proof?" Xenia's gaze sharpened. "My father is already dead. You're just making things up."
She absolutely couldn't admit that her father was still alive. Who knew what the Liddells would do to her when they found out?
Noelle glanced at her coldly. "The evidence will come soon enough. You really thought that money transfer wouldn't leave a trail?"
Xenia's expression shifted, and she stumbled back. "I don't know what you're talking about. I already transferred the money to PZ Group!"
Noelle shrugged. "There's no rush. The truth will come out soon."
There was a certainty in her eyes that made Xenia panic. She stammered, "I'm going to my room to change."
"Stop right there." Noelle stepped forward and snatched the phone from her hand. "You were planning to contact him secretly, right?"
"That's nonsense!" Xenia protested nervously. "If you're that suspicious, take the phone. I don't care. I'm just going to change."
Besides, this wasn't the phone she used to contact her father. Xenia hurried back into the villa anxiously.
Donovan looked at Noelle suspiciously. "Did you really find proof that Xenia's father is still alive?"
"I saw it with my own eyes. Here is the photo." Noelle pulled out her phone and showed him the picture.
Donovan nearly collapsed when he saw who the man in the photo was. "Impossible. He's supposed to be dead! How could he still be alive?"
If Xenia's father was still alive, then what really happened in that car accident? Had he raised a murderer's daughter?
Right then, the phone in Xenia's hand rang. Noelle's smile widened. "Looks like your father's calling you now. Hand it over."
Xenia was already nervous, but she panicked when she saw Donovan and Frank outside.
Without a second thought, she hurled the phone into the toilet and pretended to fumble with the handle, quickly flushing it. The flip phone was light and almost disappeared down the drain.
Xenia let out a relieved sigh as the phone was flushed down. "I had a backup phone. I was going to call the head of PZ Group to ask him to return the money…"
But the ringtone was still going. It could still be heard from the toilet bowl. Noelle stepped forward slowly and peered inside. The phone hadn't been flushed away.
Xenia's heart dropped. Shit! Everything would be exposed if that phone ended up in the Liddell family's hands.
