Donovan's expression shifted instantly. "Noelle, what are you talking about?"
He did not expect Noelle to say such words in public. It would be humiliating for him if such news became widespread.
Noelle looked coldly at Donovan and replied, "If you keep on pestering Mia, I'll start a livestream and reveal everything she has endured. Let's see if you and Mrs. Cantrell would still have the guts to show your faces after that."
While it might be a private matter of the Cantrell family, someone like Salena, who cared a lot about her reputation, would definitely be unable to bear it if news about the matter blew up.
Even though Mia was now an orphan, there were still other seniors in the family with whom she had maintained good relationships.
They would definitely stand up for her and question Salena about what had really happened.
If they were to find out that the assets had truly been transferred out, Salena would not be able to clear her name whatsoever.
Noelle knew that Donovan cared about his own reputation more than anything else. It was the only way to make him back off.
Noticing the crowd gathering around them, he had no choice but to give up, not wanting things to escalate further.
Before he left, he turned to Mia, expressing, "One day, you'll finally understand that I'm really sincere about you."
Noelle felt nauseous after hearing that. "If you're really sincere about her, why don't you prove it by returning all the money you took?"
Donovan hesitated for a moment before replying. "Once my company makes a comeback and starts making a profit, I'll naturally pay her back."
He could not do it just yet.
Grace could not help but curse at him. "Trying to live off a woman? I've never seen anyone as shameless as you!"
Donovan knew that he was in the wrong. He had no way to come up with the money right now, so he could only leave dejectedly.
The crowd soon dispersed after he had left as well.
Only then did Mia emerge from Eugene's arms, her face still burning hot. She turned to Noelle and asked, "Why are you here?"
