Eugene's body felt like a furnace, and no matter how Mia struggled, she couldn't break free. Right then, her mind could only scream two words—huge mistake.
She shouldn't have listened to Grace's bad advice, and she definitely shouldn't have doubted Eugene's physical strength.
...
The next morning, Noelle woke up with a yawn in the master bedroom, stretching lazily. Suddenly, she felt that something was off. Her arm was bare, and it felt as if she was not wearing anything. Startled, she turned over and saw the handsome man lying beside her, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
Her face flushed instantly. She had no memory of what happened after getting back to the apartment last night. But since she had been with Cedric the whole time, her guard had been completely down.
"You're awake? Do you remember what happened last night?" Cedric opened his eyes and gave her cheek a playful squeeze.
Noelle stared into his deep, unreadable eyes, trying her best to recall. Nothing came to mind. At that moment, the hand on her waist started to move upward.
She quickly pressed his hand down. "You almost tricked me. Shouldn't I be the one asking you what happened last night? And why the hell am I not wearing anything?"
"Because you threw up. On yourself... and on me." Cedric's calm tone left her speechless.
She lowered her eyes. "Fine."
"Does your head still hurt?" he asked.
"No. The hangover's gone."
He pulled her into his arms again, and Noelle ended up lying right on top of him. She tensed immediately—she wasn't wearing anything, and Cedric was only in a pair of boxers. This position was way too intimate and definitely dangerous.
Noelle tried to move away, but his hand held her firmly by the waist, making it impossible to escape. Without saying anything more, Cedric lowered his head and kissed her—slow, tender, and lingering.
Still dazed from sleep, she didn't even resist until her body felt completely weak, and she was curled up in his arms. She finally shoved him back, and the two wrestled playfully for a bit before Noelle burst out laughing.
Cedric gave her a look full of meaning. "There are other people here, you know."
