No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 952

It seemed Cedric was here for Noelle. Even with injuries on his face, he hadn't hesitated to come.

Alfred stepped in to ease the tension. "Dinner gathering, right? I've booked the place. Everyone's coming!"

Their colleagues seemed excited, but Noelle lowered her eyes and said nothing.

After she followed her colleagues back to the office, some whispered among themselves. "Did you see his face? There's a bruise."

"Looks like he got punched. Who would dare hit him?"

Their eyes landed on Noelle as they asked, "Do you know what happened?"

Everyone knew Noelle and Cedric were dating, and now that Cedric's flawless, handsome face had taken a blow, it would be a shame if he got a scar.

Noelle cleared her throat and mumbled, "No idea." It wasn't like she could admit to being the one who'd punched him.

As she walked away, she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. Sure enough, Cedric was watching her, and his eyes had been following her the whole time.

Alfred clapped him on the shoulder. "Stop staring. Let's go to dinner."

But Cedric stayed still. "My mom went to her."

Alfred's hands paused mid-air as he asked, "What did she say?"

"I'm not sure," Cedric replied. His gaze was glued to her retreating figure, yet he dared not get closer.

Alfred looked at him and muttered, "You almost got your face ruined from the punch, so take it easy. I bet Mrs. Greene approached her to explain the truth about the past and probably put in a few good words for you."

Cedric fell silent for a moment before saying, "There's news about the kidney donor."
