No More Mrs. Nice Wife (Eleanor) novel Chapter 1552

Hidden in the dim shadows, Eleanor's mind went completely blank. By the time she regained her senses, she realized her hands were tightly gripping the front of his shirt. Remembering they were standing right by the street, she flushed hotly and pushed the opportunistic man away.

"Are you done?" she asked, lowering her gaze in irritation.

To her surprise, he let out a low chuckle. "Not even close."

The night breeze cooled Eleanor's heated face, snapping her back to reality. As she turned her head, her cheeks burned crimson.

She had just noticed Gavin Young's car parked barely thirty feet away. That meant everything that had just happened...

They had an audience.

Sensing her embarrassment, Ian turned toward the car. A moment later, Gavin stepped out of the driver's seat, quickly hailed a passing cab, and left the scene.

Eleanor stood there, slightly stunned. Soon after, the silver Rolls-Royce Phantom glided smoothly to a stop beside her. The window rolled down, and Ian, now in the driver's seat, said softly, "Get in. Let's go home."

She hesitated for a second before opening the door and sliding in.

Eleanor didn't want to talk to him on the way back. Ian turned on the audio system, and a beautiful blues melody filled the luxurious, private cabin, mingling with the faint scent of premium leather.

The silver car glided steadily through the night. Ian wasn't in a hurry to get back. Evelyn was sleeping at Goodwin Manor tonight, so neither of them had to worry about parenting duties.

"Want to go for a drive?" he offered.

"It's late. Let's just go home," Eleanor replied, glancing at him. "I'm tired."

"Alright," he agreed quietly.

They pulled into the townhouse's driveway. The deep blue landscape lights outside the row of houses reflected against the garden lamps, creating a peaceful, inviting atmosphere.

Eleanor noticed her house was completely dark. She frowned slightly. Was Joslyn not home?

Just then, Princess let out an excited bark from the second-floor balcony. Eleanor unlocked the door with her fingerprint and flipped on the living room lights. Behind her, Ian asked, "Did Joslyn take the day off?"

Realizing something, Eleanor pulled her phone from her purse and, sure enough, saw a text from her housekeeper.

"Ma'am, I'm taking the night off. I'll be back around ten tomorrow morning."

Eleanor silently put her phone away. Princess rushed down from the second floor, running circles around them. Ian immediately crouched down to pet her, asking gently, "Did you eat your dinner?"

Princess obviously wasn't hungry; she had just been lonely and bored by herself. Now that both her owners were home, she was ecstatic.

As Ian patted the dog, his gaze naturally followed the woman walking toward the water dispenser.

She was wearing a white silk blouse and a long, black pencil skirt that hugged her stunning curves, looking elegant and captivating.

Princess nudged Ian's palm. Perhaps sensing that the man was distracted, she wagged her tail, grabbed her favorite toy ball, and went off to chew on it alone.

Ian slowly stood up. It was just the two of them in the spacious house, and the air hummed with a subtle, unspoken tension.
