Chapter 286 A Special Gift

“I won’t say more. I really have something to handle. Let’s talk later.”

“N-”

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The sharp busy tone cut off everything Alfred wanted to say. All his words got stuck in his throat.

On the other side, Nella was sitting inside a high-end custom fountain pen shop called Valcrest, with Marshal by her side.

Marshal sat quietly in a pet stroller, batting a small ball with his paws. He looked calm and well- behaved.

Nella sat on a couch across from a display table. Neatly arranged in front of her were several elegant fountain pens. They looked refined, simple, and understated.

“Nella?”

Ryan walked into the shop and called out carefully when he saw her.

Nella looked up by instinct. When she saw Ryan, she gave him a polite nod.

“Nella, are you here to customize a pen for someone?”

Nella nodded. She was a little surprised to learn this shop belonged to Ryan, but she didn’t

comment on it.

Just then, a staff member walked over.

“Ms. Milo, would you like to engrave any special words or symbols on the pen?”

Nella thought for a moment.

“Just engrave the name ‘Keywood,’ please.”

“Of course, Ms. Milo.”

The staff brought over a design sheet and a customization agreement for the pen. Nella signed

it without hesitation.

After collecting the paperwork, the staff said, “Ms. Milo, the pen will be ready by tomorrow. We’ll call you once it’s done.”

At Apex Medical Center, Mason and the others came to visit Alfred.

They arrived just as Alfred told Sergio to handle his discharge paperwork.

“Why are you in such a rush?” Mason frowned. “Can’t you stay one more night?”

“I’m fine,” Alfred said flatly. “No need to waste medical resources.”

“Waste medical resources?” Mason mocked. “If that’s the case, you should’ve said so earlier. We could’ve sent you to Everwell last night. We run that hospital. Not wasting anything.”

Alfred didn’t have the mood to argue.

After changing into the clothes Sergio brought him, he headed straight for the exit.
