Chapter 353 Too Much
Nella didn’t hide anything from Wesley. She showed him the text message on her phone.
“I think I’ve just struck it rich.”
Hearing that, Wesley let out a soft laugh. “Then congratulations.”

As he spoke, his gaze fell on the message on Nella’s screen, and the smile at the corner of his mouth faded slightly.
After a few seconds of thought, he asked, “From Alfred?”
Nella mentally went through everyone in her circle. The only person who could come up with that kind of money was Alfred.
The divorce waiting period had ended a week ago. Based on the timing, if Alfred had already started the cash transfer process earlier, the money would indeed be hitting her account around now.
So… it really was from Alfred?
Was he out of his mind?
Even though Nella didn’t fully understand how major corporations operated, would a hundred billion in liquid cash really have no impact on Alfred?
She frowned.
The money was tempting, but she truly didn’t have the nerve to take that much.
She had signed the contract herself. Whatever compensation Alfred was willing to give, according to the agreement, she could accept without guilt.
But taking this much extra money felt unjustifiable.
“I need to head home for a bit.”
She said this to Wesley, then quickly left the office.
After getting home, she took out the signed divorce agreement and specifically looked at the clauses Alfred had revised.
All properties under Alfred’s name, except for Emerald Vista Bay, as well as all liquid cash he could mobilize.
Nella stared at the agreement in silence for a long time,
She never imagined that getting divorced would land her on the Forbes rich list.
After thinking it over, Nella still called Alfred.
Just like the previous times, Alfred answered quickly.
After picking up, his cautious voice came through the phone.
“Nella, you were looking for me?”

Chapter 353 Too Much
“That money… was it from you?”
There was a long silence on the other end, followed by a low hum of agreement.
“It’s too much. I don’t need it. Just give me the amount stated in the original contract.”
Another brief silence followed.
Then, Alfred’s serious voice came through. “That’s what you deserve.”
Nella wanted to make it clear that their marriage had lasted three years in name only, not like a true partnership.
She really didn’t feel right taking that much money.
“Nella.”
Alfred’s hoarse voice continued from the other end.
There was hesitation in it.
“I gave the Macks nearly a hundred billion in assets. You’re my wife. You can’t get less than them.”
Nella paused for a while before continuing.
“That’s too much. I can’t take it.”
In this marriage, Alfred had given her everything aside from love.
After the divorce, taking one billion as agreed was something she could accept with peace of mind. But reaching out for a hundred billion? She truly couldn’t.
After all, the self-inflicted devotion during that marriage had been her own willing choice. Using that as a reason to demand so much money from Alfred felt meaningless.
Alfred seemed to sense what she was thinking. He didn’t argue further, only asked, “Let’s go transfer the properties before the New Year. When are you free?”
