“This building will be her dowry anyway. Nella has alreally signed the divorce papers with your foolish older brother.”
“Yes, yes.”
Camelia’s eyes twinkled as she added, “You should attend the dedication ceremony personally.”
“Okay.”
Meanwhile, Nella and Alfred went to the property registry to transfer all the properties.
While signing, Nella could sense the staff looking at her differently than before.
After leaving the center, Alfred asked, “Shall I drive you back to campus?”
“No need.”
Expected answer.
“I drove here, can’t just leave the car.”
Nella added, explaining herself.
Having accepted most of Alfred’s fortune, her tone had oftened, speaking more politely.
Alfred gave a wry smile. “Alright. Stay safe on your way.”
“Mm.”
Nella turned and headed toward her parked car.
Alfred watched her back for a long moment before dark y pulling his gaze away.
As he returned to Keywood Tower, the car still moving, omeone suddenly dashed in front of him. Startled, Richie muttered a curse under his breath.
“Damn it! I should’ve floored it, not braked! I’m going to kill this damn idiot!”
Alfred, in the back seat, frowned slightly. His voice was low and steady as he asked, “What’s going on?”
“Sir, someone suddenly ran in front of the car…”
Before Richie could finish, someone rapped on Alfred’s side window.
“Alfred! Alfred!”
Richie jumped out and pulled the man aside, instantlycognizing him as that two-faced bitch’s father. His irritation worsened.
“What are you doing?”
If not for that woman, Alfred wouldn’t have divorced his wife, and here he dared to come after Alfred!

When Alfred got out, Norris struggled even harder.
“Alfred, Zoey’s been arrested. We don’t plan to sign the letter of forgiveness. I … I know it’s all Zoey’s fault and that you should punish her.
“But this time… can you let us go? We won’t bother you gain. Consider it repayment for Zoey saving your life back then. Please?”
Alfred’s gaze grew even colder, piercing and merciless.
He signaled Richie, who understood immediately and released Norris.
Free at last, Norris ran up to Alfred and got down to his knees in front of him.
“Alfred, even if Zoey made mistakes, she did it out of love for you. Her actions were wrong, but her intentions were pure.
“If it weren’t for loving you, she wouldn’t have been so terrified and still risked her life to save you back then. Over the years, because of the aftereffects from saving you, she’s suffered endlessly and even developed depression. You’ve seen all of this with your own eyes.”
Norris tried to awaken that last trace of “conscience” in Alfred, saying anything he could.
Like clinging to a final lifeline, he went on, “I also know you’ve helped us a lot over the years. This really is the last time. If you could just show some mercy, I truly won’t come and trouble you again in the future.”
