No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 371

Chapter 371 Two Mandatory Courses

As Felicia spoke, she stepped forward and physically separated the two men.

Hearing them call each other ‘Cousin” back and forth. Felicia had no idea what was going on.

Since when did these two become cousins?

But she didn’t have time to dwell on that. She was worried they might start fighting in her house, so she said to Wesley, “Wesley, aren’t you helping Clifford in the kitchen? He’s swamped. Go on in.”

Wesley didn’t challenge Felicia’s authority and nodded.

Having won that round, he looked downright pleased, while Alfred’s expression was noticeably worse.

“Since my cousin is a guest invited by my parents-in-law then it should be me, the son-in-law, who goes to help my father-in-law. Wesley, you should sit and relax in the living room.”

As Alfred spoke, he rolled up his sleeves and headed toward the kitchen.

Wesley stepped directly into his path, forcing a cold smile onto his face.

“You’re already the ex-son-in-law. Don’t you have even that much self-awareness?”

Alfred looked utterly unconcerned. “Even if Nella and I only have one second of marriage left, I’m still their legitimate son-in-law. Anyone trying to wedge themselves in should take a break and rein in those low-class thoughts.”

“This is the first time I’ve learned that my cousin enjoys deceiving himself so much.”

“And I’ve just learned that not only are you thick-skinned, Cousin, you’re also full of delusions.”

The two went back and forth, clearly on the verge of throwing punches, when Felicia finally shouted in frustration, “Enough. Neither of you is going.”

She put on her authoritative elder’s air and pointed at the couch.

“If you want to stay for dinner, sit down. If you don’t, leave now.”

Seeing that Felicia was genuinely angry, both Alfred and Wesley fell silent.

They obediently found separate seats and sat down.

Felicia went back into the kitchen to help Clifford.

Before leaving, she gave Nella a pointed look, signaling her to keep an eye on the two of them.

Nella was also afraid they might start fighting, and remembering the old man’s tearful face, she spoke up, “How about… You two talk it out properly?”

Deep down, she still didn’t want to believe Regis could be that cold-blooded-beating Wesley’s father to death and throwing his body into the sea, leaving no trace.

Could someone really pretend for so long?

A cold snort came from Alfred. “What is there to talk about with someone who has bad intentions?”

Chapter 371 Two Mandatory Courses

Wesley, after glancing at Nella, said instead, “I’ll do what Nella says.”

Alfred rolled his eyes.

Then, Wesley turned to Alfred’s darkened face and smiled.

“Alfred, let’s communicate properly. I know you have issues with me, but don’t make things hard for Nella.”

Alfred scoffed.

He suddenly felt the urge to enroll in two mandatory courses: the art of being two-faced and the art of speaking.

This so-called cousin of his had clearly mastered both.

Just then, Marshal waddled over, twisting his chubby hips, and plopped down beside Alfred.

Alfred patted Marshal’s head and said. “Good boy, Marshal. I, your brother-in-law, will take you out to play.”

He deliberately emphasized the words “brother-in-law with exactly the same intent as when he stressed “parents-in-law” earlier.

Wesley sneered inwardly, but kept a gentle smile on his face as he looked at Marshal and said, “Marshal, make the most of calling him brother-in-law while you still can. In a few days, you’ll have to switch to calling him Cousin.”
