Chapter 394 Look After Her for Me

Nella signed up.

“Nella, have you talked to your parents about this?”

Looking at the application form, Caleb spoke, his expression conflicted.

As the chief director, he naturally hoped doctors would step up fearlessly for international aid missions.

But as Nella’s mentor, he couldn’t bear to see his student risk her life in such a dangerous place.

Nella didn’t answer his question directly. She simply nodded solemnly.

“They’ll support my decision.”

“But…”

Caleb was still hesitant, so Nella continued, “Professor Fred, don’t worry. We’ll take all the necessary precautions. Besides, we’ll be stationed in a civilian protection zone. Our safety will be guaranteed.”

In the end, seeing that Nella was determined, Caleb reluctantly agreed.

When she left his office and returned to the surgery building, she spotted Mason storming out of Jasmine’s office with a dark expression.

When he saw Nella, he froze for a moment, his face tinged with bitterness.

After a brief hesitation, he walked up to her.

“You signed up for the medical mission to Seldoria too?

Nella didn’t answer. She just looked at him, confusion in her eyes.

“Does Alfred know?”

Nella was speechless.

“We’re already divorced. Why would he need to know?”

She had a pretty good idea why Mason looked the way he did.

He must have found out that Jasmine had volunteered to go to Seldoria.

Her question left Mason momentarily speechless.

After a long pause, his eyes reddened as he spoke in a pleading tone, “Please… look after her for me.”

“You don’t need to ask. Jasmine is my best friend. Of course I’ll look after her.”

Mason nodded. He glanced back at Jasmine’s office several times, knowing he couldn’t change her mind. In the end, he gave up.

“Thank you.”

With that, he left the hospital.

Nella stood there, watching his retreating figure for a moment before heading to Jasmine’s office.

Jasmine was sitting at her desk, flipping through a patient’s chart.

When she saw Nella walk in, she greeted her casually.

“I just ran into Mason.”

Jasmine’s hands paused briefly before she replied in an indifferent tone, “He didn’t want me to go to Seldoria. We got into a huge fight.”

Even though Nella had signed up herself and kept saying they’d be in a safe zone, she couldn’t guarantee absolute safety.

Deep down, she didn’t want Jasmine to go either.

“Maybe there’s been some kind of misunderstanding between Mason and that D-list actress. Why don’t you sit down and have a real talk with him?”

Jasmine looked up from the chart and raised an eyebrow.

“Since when did you become his spokesperson?”

Nella pressed her lips together.

Because of her own failed marriage, she had always stood by her friend’s decisions, even though she could see how deeply Mason cared for Jasmine.

She understood that marriage was something only the people in it could truly understand.

No matter how good things looked from the outside, appearances could be deceiving.

But now, for some reason, she felt the urge to try and talk Jasmine out of it.

Some things weren’t black and white. This trip to Seldoria could bring unexpected dangers that no one could foresee.

“All right, I know you don’t want me to go to Seldoria and you’re using Mason to try and keep me here.”
